It's a lovely Park plenty of Space; great for people of all ages there's a Sun-Dial there which is very Old.. & other Victoria Buildings worth a look very Impressive/don't have any Photos for Wellhome Park but Photos were taken on a Walk to Copley
I attended the Brighouse Park Run for the first time equipped with my bar code to be scanned at the end of the route. This is a very well organised event with a prompt 9am start. There are hi visibility bibbed volunteers/marshals/first aiders stationed along the route, guiding and cheering you on. There were195 runners of all ages with two tail walkers also completing the 4 lap course. Close by the finish line there is a small cafe where you can relax, recover & chat with other park users. I thoroughly encourage you take a trip to Wellholme Park, to either take part/volunteer or give support to a fantastic event.
This is a great park with formal gardens, woodlands and a river/stream which the dogs love. Easy and free parking. 15-minute walk into Brighouse centre along the river bank and footpaths, leading to the canal towpath where Blakeley's fish and chip shop and Mamil bar/cafe are definitely worth visiting.
Fantastic large park with lots of exploring bits, children's play, teenage skate bit. Lots of benches to sit on. So much to explore: flat bits, stream bits, cycle bits, climbing bits. Only criticism which is down to its users. Adults not keeping their kids to the 2m policy, older teenagers in large groups trying to prove a point. Such a large place to enjoy however lazy families congregating near the entrances near the car park near the play area. Come on people, it IS POSSIBLE to enjoy the outdoors here sensibly.
My sister has had surgery on her ankle so was walking in crutches. ...the keeper of the park was very caring and took time out to help her with her dog. I loved the woodland walk.
Lovely park, plenty of room to walk around. Well kept, surprisingly busy for lockdown.
Great park space with a 1km flat walking or running path whatever your fancy. Even a fitness area at northern end to do some cardio or whatever Good relaxing space for kids .....lovely kiddies park area plus a square area with a well kept flower garden looked after by a member of Calderdale Council wish I knew his name. Even little coffee shop of the same name in the park area where you can have a lovely latte or any drink of choice with a sandwich hot or cold....quite affordable. Lots of places to just sit on s park bench and read or watch the wonders of nature. Wooded area around park also has walking and bike trails. Really good place to relax and unwind.
This will always be a special place to me. My staffy Tazmine loved here and this photo of her playing in the stream so happy was a week before she sadly passed away. Now i bring my new staffy Jasmine here where she has made lots of friends and so have I. A beautiful place.
Good green space for a stroll with multi age playgrounds, skate park, excellent café Picnic area: Picnic Tables and benches - and litter bins!
Lovely park, with a wide open spaces, great playground for the kids, a stream runs through it and there's a new skatepark too. Small cafe for hot and cold snacks. Access to Tesco's car park and the swimming pool in the park too. There is a small formal garden which is kept to a high standard. Love popping in with the kids before we go swimming.
