Three of us were in Glasgow and we had dinner here. We all enjoy Indian food but non of us had experienced Nepalese food, so the partnership between the two here drew us in. The place was very busy but the kindly host found us a spot. So very glad she did too because the food was amazing. The staff is hard working, professional and kind. We all loved this place.
What a wonderful addition to Blantyre! After successful opening few days ago we managed to get a table for dinner. Everything was immaculate! Service was amazing, all staff took good care of us. The food... Absolutely incredible! Both curries we chose were so full of flavour and delicious, and lamb was very soft. Great selection of drinks and draught beers. This is probably our new local now. Absolutely recommend!!!
We both enjoyed our meal here. Bill came to just under £50 for 2 people. Id say 1 rice and 1 nan is enough between 2 for future. I think £1 for 1 poppadom is a bit much, I’ve minused 1 star as I feel staff could be more attentive but overall nice wee local restaurantFood: 5/5
Update: Just visited the new Blantyre location, and got told by staff that they don't do take-away orders anymore, poor show in this economy... Old EK review: Lovely place where you will be made to feel welcome the most vegan friendly place in East Kilbride too. Made a great name for itself and rightly so; food is at an excellent standard. Interior is lovely; warmly lit, lovely lamps and beautiful mural. Staff are great. I would dare-say that this is my favourite non-vegan restaurant heck; my favourite restaurant over all Vegetarian options: There are lovely vegetarian and vegan dishes I recommend the veg pakora, and the aloo saadeko with the red sauce, as both are great.
Really excellent food at a good price. Service was great but it was sooooooo loud in there. I mean really loud. They try to fit too many people in the restaurant. That and loud background music results in everyone having to talk really loudly which of course spirals.Food: 5/5
First visit here and it won't be the last. Had the 2 course menu and it was delicious. Pakoda, korma and chicken tikka. All recommended. Service was swift and welcoming. One small snag, poppadoms are so over-priced. Unfortunately this is becoming the norm.
Really enjoyed the food. Will defo be backFood: 5/5
Visited for dinner and had a lovely meal. The food was great, full of flavour, well presented and thoroughly enjoyable. There is a range of choices to suit all tastes and the Nepalese lamb dish my partner chose was amazing. The mixed grill I ordered came in the usual sizzling skillet and all the meat was cooked to perfection. If I had any slight issue it was that there was not a lot of curry sauce to have with the rice let alone the meat. This however could just be a personal preference thing and certainly will be going back. As it is new premises the decor is fresh, clean and well presented. Tables have enough space to move around and the high ceilings giving an airy atmosphere. They operate a kind of one way system with an entry and exit door into and out of the restaurant and to the toilets which keeps any traffic moving. We walked but there is a car park at the back with a decent amount of spaces but does fill up quickly during busy periods. There are a number of bus routes within a couple of minutes walk though for access from many surroundings areas including Glasgow. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Attentive without being overbearing and always nearby should you need anything. Would definitely recommend and 100% and establishment Blantyre was needing.
Had a great meal at the Wee Gurka after its relocation. The building is looking fantastic. Love the new setting and the meals are as good as ever! I wish you all the success in your new place.
Ill start by saying i will return - was good . However had to chase our drinks order three times . Fish pakora starter was very small - 5 tiny pieces lost on the plate. Main was lovely - but overall could have eaten more. Felt portions were sized down to the very minimum of what was acceptable. Food was lovely & i will be back.Food: 5/5
