Always a fantastic time in Wedges Bakery. Pictured below was a Mocha that a lovely girl named "Brodi" made for me. Service with a smile and a lovely heart on the Coffee because they love me. All the ladies and Matt are wonderful. Thanks Wedges crew ^_^
Totally disorganised today and it wasn’t even busy. I was stood at the coffee counter where there is a till. The staff ignored me and others. Eventually they said I had to join the main queue where I’ve previously queued for food. And agreed that sometimes you can queue at the coffee bar and pay. And sometimes not. No signage to say ‘this till is closed’. Very frustrating. As much as I try to support local businesses, I took a trip to Costa for my coffee.
Delicious and totally not focused around a branded experience. Hot chocolate made from milk rather than instant. Lovely handmade pineapple cream cake. Worth every penny xRecommended dishesCupcake, Bakery
I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. The smell of freshly baked bread, displays of amazing looking cakes and savouries and the smell of ground coffee too..... Set in a traditional looking shop with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating this really is the proverbial cherry on the icing on the freshly baked cake. This was my first visit here and I'll definitely be back again. The service was very friendly, albeit I was missing a cake off my order, but when I called up it wasn't a problem replacing this. Expect to queue here as it was out of the door when I was here and this was at 11.30 on a Sunday morning. I wish I'd have taken pictures. We ordered included a huge chocolate eclair, a big vanilla slice, a fat cream scone and a really tasty pineapple tart. Absolutely deeeeelicious. I will be back
I took my ladyvwho I look after here. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The cakes are delicious. Would highly recommend.Food: 5/5
On Sunday 30 June 2024, I ordered a sausage and egg sandwich at 10:17am. Having chased it twice, it finally arrived at 10:53am. The sausage was the best but sadly the granary bread was like cardboard and the egg hard. I have been coming here for many years and this is the first bad experience with them.
I have been using this bakery since lockdown but the last few weeks the service has been terrible, Monday the 16th I order bacon and sausage sandwich , I get home and unwrap it to find I have an egg sandwich, well done! 3 days later I return and order two bacon and sausage sandwiches and when I get home both are sausage and egg, I’ve attached a pic so you can see the standard of eggs this bakery is serving up. 1 star is generous
This place was recommended to me and I didn't even know it existed. So I took a detour from a bike ride to visit and wasn't disappointed. The coffee was lovely and so were the two cakes I tried! I'll be re-visiting for more traditional bakery items soon for sure! For the record I had the 'Tart au citron' and the 'Bakewell slice' both delicious!
Visited the store and ordered a sandwich. Card machine was down so cash only which was fine. Waited 25 minutes and still not made chased it with the cashier. She went to check and clearly had forgotten about it as asked me which bread I wanted. I didn’t have any more time to wait around so had to ask for the money back and left. Shame as this place is normally fantastic.
Great food, not like the farm shop in monkspath but a close second. Freshly made sandwiches in front of your eyes. Great ingredients and the bakery is stunning.Food: 5/5
