I went in today as a solo dinner for some lunch. I was shown to my table by John who was very friendly, attentive and professional for the whole visit. The food choice on the menu was really good, there was quite a few things I wanted to pick but went for the luxury Mac and cheese. I hope the photo does it justice as it was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The restaurant is always clean, tidy and well maintained and all the staff I spoke to during my meal were so friendly. Thank you for a lovely meal!
Popped in for breakfast with my son while my daughter was at a birthday party. It wasn't busy. Staff were very friendly. Food came quickly. The breakfast menu was a bit fancy. My son ordered the fruity pancakes which said they came with raspberries, strawberries and blue berries but when it arrived it was just blueberries which was a bit disappointing as he was really only wanting strawberries - but I didn't ask for it to be changed.
My brother, my Gran, my niece and I all went here for lunch, my brother picked it because it had a large soft play area that my niece could play in, he hadn't realised that you had to book a table in the play area but the staff were lovely about it, letting us sit at a table while they had a small gap in bookings so that my niece could play. The staff were lovely and friendly, so attentive and they honestly seemed like they loved their jobs. They served us drinks and our starter in the soft play area then helped us move through to our proper table when the time came, we had a absolutely lovely camembert wheel with toast and chutney to share as well as the sweet potato, chickenpea and red pepper koftas to share and both were lovely. The mains were lovely as well, Gran had a chargrilled duck salad which she said was very nice, my brother had the steak and ribs which he thoroughly enjoyed, and the ribs were really good as well, nice and tender, sizeable amounts of meat on there! I had the steak sandwich which was lovely, the steak was melt in the mouth, no grizzle, and tasted really nice. We were served mainly by Linda and she was absolutely lovely, very enthusiastic and attentive, great with my niece and was really nice to Gran, offering her a takeaway box for the salad she couldn't finish and really quick at getting us anything we needed. A young man also served us a time or two and was nice as was the young blonde lass that was in the kids area, all in all a really nice experience and we would be really happy to visit again.
Food was excellent. Crispy squid was delicious. The haddock had a really crispy batter and was really tasty. Haggis fritters lovely. Mixed grill was one of the tastiest I've had in a while. Only thing I could say that was a negative the service was quite slow. But I'm not marking score down... Will be back very soon.
It's a place I go to because it's easy. It's just alright food, decent prices and it comes out quick. But having said that, it's smash not fresh made mashed potato. It's frozen chicken so don't expect sizzling fajitas on a hot stone to arrive at your table or nice crisp pastry with your steak pie. It's basic pub grub. Burgers are good, mac'n'cheese is nice and kids have a good choice, including healthy options too. Soft play is good although at busy times such as weekends and holidays I recommend you book a table otherwise you may end up with disappointed children. Obviously you have to be seated in the soft play area to supervise your children and there is limited seating. Be mindful drinks and puddings are pricey like most places now so bill can add up. Having said all that...I go back from time to time. Its comfy, its nice and the kids enjoy it. When I'm not looking for a fancy meal, just something nice and a place for the kids to just enjoy themselves I go here.
What a lovely pub. When I entered I was told there would be a 30 minute wait as the kitchens were really busy. That was fine, I was in no hurry. Staff made me feel really welcome and as soon as a table was ready I was seated and left to look over the menu. Went for the fish and chips and must say, they were some of the best fish and chips I have ever had. Beautiful crispy batter, juicy flakey fish and a good portion of golden chips. Very friendly staff. If I'm ever in the area again I will definitely be back.
We had dinner here, the food was great. We had the chicken share platter which was lovely, also can highly recommend mac and cheese, and fish and chips! So tasty. We were served mainly by Simon and Jade, who were awesome, made us feel welcome and were hilarious excellent shot/cocktail skills!. We will definitely be back soon!
Service was great, food left something to be desired. My mom had the the Chicken Burger, it was more like a 1/4 inch frozen chicken pattie with almost no flavor. I had the Gourmet Steak Burger and it tasted like it had been boiled and more like soybeans instead of beef. Fries were delicious and once again the service was fantastic.
Great meal with family 4 adults and 4 young children. Staff were friendly and attentive. They were especially helpful and patient with the tired and over-excited children! Lots of choice on the menu and food was great with good portions. Thanks to Simon and the rest of the team
Came in for dinner and had a great experience! Our sever was Simon and he was great, made sure we knew about all the upgrades for our meal and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was also amazing, definitely recommend!
