After a week of being in the UK I finally got to try fish and chips. Good thing my work colleagues brought me to this location. Dish was good. Service was great, traditional pub style dining.
I eat here fairly regularly due to having various discounts available to me through work & AA membership. The service is attentive but not rushed & I would give that 5* on its own. Sue is particularly lovely. The food is generally good although certain things can be a bit hit & miss. I've learned to avoid the turkey roast! As a reasonably priced, usually decent meal out for the family it's a safe bet. I was somewhat surprised on my most recent visit this weekend that our table did not appear to have been cleaned prior to us being allocated to it. Salt debris & some spillages had not been cleaned, which did surprise me especially as a 'Reserved' sign had been put on the table. I would have thought that the person who put the sign there would have noticed the table was not clean. I was also somewhat disappointed that the venue did not have the heating on or the log fires lit bearing in mind the day was quite cold. It wasn't much fun eating in jackets & with coats on our knees to try to warm up. They claimed the heating was out of action. Knowing this they should have lit the log fires. I would go back as it's a good value place to go but will ensure that the table is cleaned thoroughly before we accept the allocated table.
Went here a few weeks ago for my boyfriend’s birthday with our friends, the service was slow and not up to scratch and our friend had to ask for our drinks order to be taken and for other basic things after we’d been waiting for a while. Towards the end of the meal a waiter said “are you going to ask again” because he’d asked for the dessert menu or order and after about 20 minutes no one had come and we wanted the bill instead, was very rude and considering his politeness and simple requests, unacceptable. They also seated a couple next to us and didn’t take off the sign on the table while they were there. The food was nice, but my seafood dish could have had some seasoning. Good value for money though.
My friends and I had a wonderful meal here. The staff were great. Could not do enough for us. The food was really nice, presented well and tasty. I had the chicken burger, extra onion rings; which are really nice by the way. My friends had a cheese and bacon burger, the lamb shank , which the meat was really tender and the lasagne. All really yummy. The desserts were double yummy lol. The atmosphere was very friendly and they are going in the right direction. Will definitely go back.
This ye olde Pub is a great place for some drinks after a long week. Especially Summer in the large Beer Garden. Inside it's got charm and the staff are helpful. There's loads of room inside and they do great food. The prices are good too. With lots of drinks to choose from and some nice Ales on tap too. Situated along a busy road in Larkfield it's normally fairly busy but worth a visit. Plenty of parking. Always a good atmosphere too. Recommended.
Easily the best greene king! Ate from the signature dish menu, mussels, seafood duo & chicken thighs. All very good quality, not rushed, beautiful old pub. Will definitely be returning.
Friendly, helpful staff with decent pub meals for the price. Good range of beers on tap. Wide meal selection from the menu, catering for most tastes. Clean toilets. Would be difficult to access for disabled patrons due to the age of the building, but unfortunately this can't be helped. Large carpark and outdoor seating area, but sadly nothing for younger guests to enjoy outside, hence 4 stars.
Wonderful function room . It's upstairs so no good for wheelchair. We had an 80th birthday celebration. The food was great. It was a buffet and caterered for veggies and gluten free guests. Bar was good too.
Excellent place. Food was cooked perfectly, large portion and very friendly staff. Cannot fault them. 5 stars well deserved.
It may be positioned on a busy main road opposite a supermarket, don’t let that put you off its country charm. Inside it’s all low beam historical country pub comfort. Food and hospitality is warm, hearty and will bring a smile to your face. The dishes are good unadulterated traditional English affairs. Excellent quality for the price, and the price is superb.
