Stayed in the large family room above the barn. The room is far bigger than the pictures indicate, and the quality of the furniture and furnishings are excellent. Best of all, the food was outstanding! We stayed for dinner and breakfast for both days, and loved every bite! My wife, myself and my 20 month old had a great time, and are currently looking forward to planning a return visit.

Amazing place. Stunning surroundings. Quiet location away from busy lakes but within 30min drive to coniston and wasdale. Great deals on rooms. Fab food and great selection of alcohol. Perfect for hiking and biking and horse riding or just quiet romantic getaway

We stayed last September, the food was excellent and the prices were very reasonable for what you got, the rooms were absolutely gorgeous, EXTREMELY clean and full of character - no cheap furniture here.  Like most of you I also have been around the world and have stayed in many hotels, never I have seen a bathroom so posh and so luxurious.  Naturally I asked the owners why everything is so high standard and such a great attention to detail, they said it took them 2 years to make it what it is, on their own, which explains all of the above.   The location worked perfectly fine for us as we wanted to visit this side of the lake district and not the Windermere side with the "Watch live football here" pubs.  The whiskey barn alone is something worth visiting alone.
