******************************************* I wonder how many people leave a salon feeling unhappy with their hair but they never say anything to the hairdresser or salon owner? ****************************************** I booked a curly cut at Way ahead, the only salon I found in the area offering this service. My hair job was assigned to Gemma who is not trained to cut curly hair! She checked the appointment book and Rihanna the curl specialist was fully booked. I do not like conflict so agreed for Gemma cutting my hair. She partially dried it with a diffuser. My hair looks awful, it's not styled at all. I can finish it better myself I feel like crying as I've wasted time and money. I don't like conflict and was in a situation I didn't expect. *** Reply *** Thank you for your reply and the points raised. An apology would have been nice, rather than passing the blame on to me. I will say the staff I spoke with all seemed nice I left a message on your answer service asking for a curly cut and finish. If you listen to it again I was very clear, as I was when coming for my appointment. When the lady returned my call, I again asked for a curly cut and finish. I'm not sure how I could have been clearer. I queried it being washed first with the lady who washed it, as when visiting a curl specialist at home in Liverpool they cut my hair dry, then wash and finish. I mentioned to her that I'd been looking for a curl specialist since staying with my partner in St Martins. We are planning to stay in the area together. I was so happy finding you in Oswestry, and I was quoted £45 for a curly cut and finish. We chatted about my natural curls. Gemma asked what I wanted doing and I told her. She checked the appointment book and told me the curl specialist was fully booked. Gemma did then give me the option of leaving AFTER my hair had been washed and was soaking wet. She also told me the curl specialist charges £90 and the appointment would be 1.5 hours. I felt awkward and embarrassed, and like I've said I don't like conflict. I'm new to accepting my wavy/curly hair - about three years in, so unsure about methods in all salons. When leaving your salon my hair was still wet in places, I knew this when going out in the cold air. My partner had booked a restaurant for us to go out in the evening, but I was too upset to go.
First time back here in years as I’d moved away, yet I was still remembered and made to feel so welcome. Such friendly and professional staff and even just a simple wash and cut made such a difference to my hair. Thank you so, so much. Have already recommended another friend over to you :

I was so nervous about going to a new salon after moving to the area 18 months ago my lockdown/working from home hair was not a good look. Gemma rescued my locks no easy task and I now feel more like me again. Louise was so lovely even though I probably talked her ears off all of the staff were really lovely and welcoming too. My daughter is booked in for her prom hair and we are both going to be using the nail bar there too. I would highly recommend Way-Ahead..I can't thank you enough Gemma... Kirsty xx
Spoke to Louise on Friday about needing an almost emergency hair appt to fix a bad DIY home color. She got back to me within a few hours with an appt for the following day. Cath was amazing and managed to fix my hair. Been going there for a few years and find them a professional and friendly team. Thanks again Cath!! You're a miracle worker.. Would highly recommend.
I moved up to the area a week ago and desperately needed a cut, I booked in with Louise and she was just brilliant, I had been using the same hairdresser for over 15 years so having to find a new one was quite daunting. Louise made me feel so special and gave me a terrific cut & blow dry, I would definitely recommend her, and I will be going back for sure.
