I have been to the doctors twice this week. Saw Dr Lee both times. What a wonderful doctor she is. Kind, gentle and such a lovely manner. The surgery have been fantastic with my needs. Quick call backs and appointments sorting my problem quickly. Thank you watton medical practice

Saw a paramedic at 10 am this morning who was very helpful and prescribed something for me. However, since he is not a doctor the duty doctor has to sign off on his prescriptions. I was told I could pick up the prescription at 'lunch time'. However at 3:45 pm pm the prescription still has not been signed off. In the meantime I remain in a lot of pain and would like to start some treatment! The receptionists say it will be 'done today' but have no idea when. There is no option for me to be notified when the prescription is ready so I have to phone up every hour to see if it's been done yet. The service I received this morning deserves a higher rating than 2, but the prolonged wait to actually get some treatment has pulled it right down. I have not bothered writing to the surgery on this occasion as on a couple of previous occasions when I have had other issues they have not deigned to respond. Update: the prescription was eventually ready at 4. The pharmacy informed this was typical and while I waited they turned other people away who also had not had their prescriptions come through yet. If I'd been told at 10 in the morning, 'You can pick your prescription up this evening from 5' and I'd gone in at 5 and there it was, I might have been mildly irritated at the long wait but at least I would have had the correct information. Given that the pharmacy say this is typical, it would be very helpful if the paramedic could be told that it doesn't take 'a couple of hours' to get a scrip signed off but in fact takes a day, and he could then pass this on to the patient. That would have saved me the agro of phoning every hour to see if the script had arrived yet - although it wouldn't have solved the problem of being in pain and unable to access treatment.

I’ve moved about quite a bit and subsequently been under the care of a few GP practices, so I have a little bit of knowledge of what substitutes a good service. Watton Medical Practice is the worst GP surgery I’ve ever encountered; if the star system would accept zero stars I would give it ZERO. Now, where to begin. Staff: the receptionists are awful, they don’t speak to patients nicely and are incredibly rude. However, I put this down to too many demands on them, it’s quite clear they’re very unhappy with their work; and there appears to only ever be one receptionist available. Online System: I was continuously bombarded with persistent and harrasing phone calls, by the receptionists, when I first joined. When I finally got round to registering for the online service I had to go and talk to the receptionist and she appeared to have lost my information. She pretended to look for it and said it had been misplaced. I explained I was very unhappy with my personal details being misplaced and I was quite sure this wasn’t inline with the Data Protection Act. She got up from her desk looked somewhere else and managed to find it, surprisingly. Tried to join the online appointment system and, guess what, it didn’t work. Doctors: I was finally seen by a GP and he told me the medication I was asking for was only available privately. I knew this wasn’t the case and after I left I complained to the practice manager. I received a call back about an hour later with details of my new prescription and an apology but no explanation as to why the, fully qualified and hugely knowledgable GP had managed not to know which medications are available on the NHS and which are not. Service: Booking appointments is beyond atrocious. Appointments can not be booked in advance of a month. I tried at the beginning of the month and there were only three appointment available for the times convenient to my work commitments so I couldn’t book. I was told to try again the next month; says it all really!

The receptionist people can become rude and if u been ringing since 0830 which has no dial tune at all they tell you to ring 0830 the following day when you want a doctor you won't be seen till 4 weeks later considering the hosptial said get a appointment asap if Swaffham has three surgerys then why can't watton have another as this surgery are too damn busy and rude at times bulid another one then you won't have bad reviews

If I could rate zero I would. Worst system Iv ever come across. Trying to get an appointment and was number 44 in the que. Then find out it's bloody triage and my case wasn't urgent. Asked to book a routine appointment and was told I couldn't. What the hell am I to do then!!!! Appalling NHS big wigs running up a. £46,000 bill at a local hotel whilst the local Drs can't cope with demand!!!
