Watson Associates

This was my first self assessment after forty years of PAYE and George Hillier - Jones and the his team at Watsons made it an easy and surprisingly pleasant process! All the staff at Watsons are welcoming and helpful and I was given good sound advice. I handed George all my paperwork etc and George did all the hard work and pulled it all together for me. I had not been looking forward to tackling the task and kept putting it off but it has gone like a dream. I'm not worried about the future years as I know I am now in safe hands now. Thank you very much George and The Watsons' team.

What can I say apart from these guys are amazing! Particularly Suzie who is always available and can never do too much to assist! I hate admin and accounts type tasks with a passion but these guys really do take the stress out of everything leaving me to be able to run my companies freely. 5 stars isn’t enough, if you’re look for a new account look no further than Watsons

I have been using George from Watson Associates as my accountant for almost 2 years, after a bad experience with another service. He has been with me on the journey from self employed to limited company and has always been quick to answer any questions I have had, given me great advice and supported me through growth and change. I can trust with confidence that he is looking after my business accounts and he regularly checks in to ensure I am doing my part! Running a business is demanding at the best of times and having a fantastic accountant means i am free to focus my energies elsewhere.

I have used Watson Associates for over 10 years for my business and have recently passed over all our day to day bookkeeping, payroll, VAT and pension responsibilities to them. Watson's have always impressed me with the professionalism, due care and efficiency. They are easily contactable and respond quickly to any queries I have. I am sure if I wasted a ton of time I could find a cheaper service, but I doubt that I would sleep as well knowing that I have them on 'my team'. If you have a proper business, you need a proper firm of accountants... Choosing them has proven to be one of the best supplier decisions I have made to date and I do not hesitate in recommending their service.

In a time of desperation when needing help with an administrative restoration of my company, having already paid for their services to deal with my accounts for the last 3 years, I was abandoned by them and told we don't have the capacity to deal with my situation anymore. Very Poor commitment, Helping people financially is surely the business model of an accountancy firm? 3 tours of Afghanistan I did for my country imagine if I abandoned my post when times got hard? Absolute shambles of a company.

As a business owner, I don't like writing bad reviews but also as a business owner, I understand the importance of treating my clients fairly and in my case, I don't feel Watson's have been fair or reasonable. I was a client at Watson's during my second and third year in business but moved to another firm after my fees with Watson kept increasing and became more and more unreasonable. With little contact during each financial year, I was being charged large amounts for brief conversations. I was even charged for a conversation when recommending a friends business to use Watson's services. I only learnt I was being charged for that conversation when I queried my final bill. The response I got when querying these fees was usually just about how they had written off X amount for 'good will' which just seems to be their safe guard whenever someone queries an invoice. It was only when I explained my fees to other business owners that I realised I was being overcharged more and more. I have since joined an established accountancy firm on a fixed fee, a third of the price of Watson's and with no charges for brief phone calls throughout the year. I understand that some accountancy firms may be better than others and therefore the fees may be more expensive, but unfortunately I don't feel the service was any different to other firms I've used. For example, I was once told on a payday when we always submitted our payroll information that I shouldn't leave it so late and then we were sent the wrong companies payroll information just before Watson's office closed and left unable to pay our staff that day, resulting in several staff complaints, bank charges and one staff member resigning. That isn't a service I would expect from an accountancy firm charging over three times the market rate. Like I said, I really didn't want to have to write a review, but after feeling extremely let down by Watson's after trying to query these crazy charges, I think it's only fair to warn others who may be considering their service.

I've been working with Watson's for over 4 years, and would thoroughly recommend them to anyone needing a first class accountancy firm. This is an excellent firm of accountants who provide help, resources and up to the minute advice. A valuable team who are able to demonstrate that they have your interests at heart.

I've recently started using George at Watson associates and would never use any one else now! I can't explain how much he has helped me already. If your looking for an accountant and book keeper Watson associates do an amazing job!

I've been using Watsons for more years than I can remember now, and service has always been second to none, whilst making the sometimes confusing world of accounts both understandable and clear, I'd be hard pushed to have a need to find any other accountancy firm, billing is clear and concise, and advice is freely given and there is a clear sense of investment as it seems to me they do genuinely care about each business being a success, and it shows.
