Work booked me a king room but got given twin beds instead but nice view looking out so no complaint. Bed was too soft, could do with upgrade on mattresses. Breakfast lovely. Didn’t use the gym facilities, too many people in and out all the time. Car park really busy.
My son age 12 and I specifically booked the Hotel due to it leisure and spa facilities. On our first morning my son woke us up at 630am so that we could go for a swim before heading out for the day, on getting to reception at 7am we were informed that as he was 12 we couldn't swim until 830am, so we didn't swim. We were also informed that as he was 12, he wouldn't be permitted to swim unless I was with him in the pool. When we got back to the hotel later that evening, three dedicated swim lanes were open and a learn to swim class was taking place, leaving only 1 lane open 20% for everyone else to have fun in, more parents and children were packed into that single lane than the rest of the pool put together. We swam for a little and I read the notice board on the wall stating that under 16s were not permitted in the sauna or steam rooms. not clear at time of booking. So we proceeded to sit in the empty jacuzzi. We were then promptly asked to leave the Jacuzzi as apparently this is also not available to under 16s. So we left disappointed. The guest check in list for the leisure facility was very short that day, clearly far more members use it than guests. I would also say that the buffet breakfast was very disappointing, when we arrived for breakfast at 830am no eggs, tomato or sausage was available, we had to wait 15 minutes before any were brought out, the bacon was dry from being on the hot plates for so long, the tomatoes weren't cooked and the beans were mushy. The King room we were in was very small with only enough room for one plastic chair and just enough room to walk around the bed. To be honest it seems more like a members leisure facility with a hotel, than a hotel with a leisure facility. We left that evening, a day early, the experience wasn't enjoyable at all and I cannot recommend this Hotel.
Pleasant hotel. Staff were great! Rooms clean, tidy, comfortable and well equipped but on the small side - don't let this put you off as it more than makes up for this! I've stayed here a few times and never been disappointed. Free parking but it can get busy due to the gym.Rooms: 4/5
I booked a small double room thinking it was just a small room which I don't mind but the bed was also tiny and not big enough really for two ppl to sleep in,it was like a single bed . I had to pay extra for an upgrade ...the upgraded room was spacious and nice much better ....it was king size .I was told they only have either king size or the tiny double rooms which makes no sense ..so there is no normal double bed ? ..not sure if that's the case ? The facilities are great ...the food was lovely we had an evening meal and also breakfast both of which were nice and a good service . The pool gym and sauna area are really great ...had such a relaxing time .spent all day in the spa area on arrival and when we had booked out which I think is really good and made the stay enjoyable . I would recommend and I would stay again Noteworthy details: Don't book a small double if there are two people sharing it's not big enough for two
A great hotel which is easy to find and located next to the river. Reception staff are friendly and our king size room was modern and well equipped. Our room was a decent size and there is also enough room to move around the bed. The pool is very busy with day visitors and the car park is also busy with gym visitors, but you can still find a space. Wi-Fi is strong, free and easy to access. Breakfast is an extensive buffet style with good quality bacon and sausages and staff were on hand and very helpful. You can also order omelettes and scrambled eggs etc to order as some items are not on the buffet and are made fresh to order.
Large, well-equipped hotel. Kind reception staff phoned me when room was ready early. Pool huge with attentive staff and good spa area. Small housekeeping queries answered immediately and sorted. Breakfast spread was super, great fresh fruit and excellent ingredients used. Exceptional service from the lovely Laura, great to chat to, and offered me a fresh flat white from the coffee shop when she thought the machine wasn't producing hot enough coffee that morning. The hotel uses Worker Bee Coffee, local to Didsbury. Highly recommend this hotel for a solo trip, to refresh, recharge and reset one's batteries.
Great place. The staff in the bar and restaurant are really good, really quick and very friendly. They create a really nice atmosphere in the bar and restaurant. The gym staff are OK but they don't always deal with issues very well and the sauna area is often very loud with big groups of young men talking at full volume, not very relaxing
Very nice, the room was on the small side but it was clean and tidy. We used the facilities, and these were well maintained and clean . Breakfast was very tasty with a choice of English breakfast , cereal ,pastes yogurt and fresh fruits . The bar was very nice also and all the staff were very attentive and friendlyRooms: 4/5
There are so many bad things about this hotel that i dont even know where to begin. The room was so unbelievably small that only 1 person could fit on the bed comfortably, and both sides of the bed had obstacles so it was incredibly difficult to physically get into the bed. In addition to this the storage space for clothes was useless and the lack of plug sockets was a huge surprise for this day and age. To finish off an already horrible hotel stay the restaurant gave me one of the very worst dining experiences of my entire life. From the rude, inattentive staff, to the outdated decor, and untidy and messy layout to the sub par food and service, i honestly dont have enough time to write it all out. Worth also mentioning the garnish on my steak that was presumably supposed to be water cress, appeared to be substituted for some sort of garden plant. Disgusting experience all round. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS.
Good gym, great staff and instructors. Natalie always provides updates on any changes to instructors or classes. Nice food at the restuarant after a workout, whats notnto likeService: 5/5
