Treated my sister to lunch for her birthday. First visit for both of us. This is such a clean and friendly place to visit. We had a waterside table with a lovely view. The staff are so friendly and the food is delicious. Generous portions and great choice. Can highly recommend this place.
We sat out the back beside well cared for petunias, with a view across the water. The staff were friendly, polite and informative. We enjoyed food here. I would recommend the katsu curry and the chocolate sponge. They also have vegan vanilla ice-cream if you can't do dairy. This place is well worth a visit if in the area.
A nice pub with good food and a fantastic seat with a view of the mere. I highly recommend the lunchtime sandwich deal because their sandwiches are possibly the best sandwich anywhere ever.
My girlfriend and I enjoyed a good dinner at this pub in Diss. I had the rump steak skewers and my girlfriend had ham, egg and chips. The meals were reasonably priced and well cooked. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a glass of wine and a soft drink. The setting on the banks of the Mere is attractive and the pub seemed clean and tidy.
A restful Abbott pint overlooking the Mere and found what little shade there was in the decking garden, on the waters-edge, as was 30C. Did not eat there but menu looks good.
Popped in for a drink and stayed for lunch. Really enjoyed the salad and the beer. It was a hot and sunny day so we were happy to remain in the shade indoors. The rear has a lovely view of the mere.
We were staying a 15 drive away from Diss, so decided to visit for a walk around and some dinner on our last night. This pub was so friendly and I really enjoyed my vegan mushroom pie and chips! There's a lovely outdoor area where you can sit overlooking the water as the name of the pub suggests!. Would definitely visit again if I was in the area.
As per a similar review from a few months ago, the woman on arrival could definitely do with an afternoon on customer service. Very rude so we left and headed to the restaurant opposite which was far better. Didn’t get to try the food here so can’t comment. Further to your response: You’re in the hospitality industry, maybe pay a visit to the restaurant across from you.
Second visit to the Waterfront. Quiet on a Tuesday afternoon. Disappointed that several items were not available: all the sandwiches and some of the sharing platters. However, the meals we were able to order were very good, albeit more expensive than the ones we intended.
Christmas day dinner was excellent, lovely atmosphere, cosy,and Sarah and her staff were kind,efficient and helpful in every way,never fails to please. The waterfront is always first on our list to visit any time of the year, Highly recommended.
