Great restaurant for mixed grill platters. We ordered a mixed grill for two. They served a generous amount of mixed rice on the longest platter I have seen being used in a restaurant. There were different types of meat, all tasty and good portions. All the food were on top of a long naan, which was pretty interesting. Another great thing is if you are a heavy user of condiments, you will love this place. There are 3 big bottles of sauces waiting for you on the tables.
I celebrated my bday in this restaurant. The Food is super delicious. Service is also great.. but only general cleanliness could be better, may be it was busy at that time that’s why they couldn’t clean the table properly.
Best food I have had so far. The vibe and the food of this restaurant is fab. I celebrated my dad’s bday here today. And also a office Christmas dinner last to last week. And I visit this place often with my fiancé. My forever favourite is kabuli pulao and Afghani lamb tikka. Actually all food items are delicious and even the kheer. The staff is also very friendly and nice. This place is gonna be my forever favourite restaurant. Love it.
Parking is an issue in the evening. I was driving around for a long time before I found a parking spot. Not the restaurants fault but soemthing to consider if visiting. The customer service was fantastic from the staff. The food was very nice, the only issue was that my food was a little too spicy for my liking. I would visit here again
I went over from Paddington to get some good desi food. Watan came on my list as I wanted to try Afghan/Pashtoon cuisine. Ordered Lamb Karahi, Chicken Biryani and Chappli Kebab with Afghani Naan. The Chapli Kebab was a big let down, it just fell short of what we are used to eating back home. The chicken biryani was okay, full marks for them to highlight on the menu that it is pre made so when they warmed it in microwave it wasn’t a shock. Lamb Karahi was without a doubt the best meal of the day. Freshly made in the open kitchen, meat was tender and the dish was flavourful. Would I travel again probably not given the distance and the food wasn’t that mind blowing.
Great food and service. Don’t let the decor put you off, the food is pleasantly surprising, cooked fresh and extremely tasty. Would have given 5 stars but the toilet left something to be desired.
Unfortunately this didn't live up to its hype. We ordered the afgani mixed grill special. The food portions were really pitiful considering what you paid for it. I could have eaten majority of it myself this feeds 2 people apparently. The rice was very bland and the chicken/lamb weren't very tasty. The staff were very friendly and the food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time.
Avoid this place. Not sure why people hype this place, I went on the basis of loads of reviews online on Insta, where people were raving about the food, I rang the restaurant this afternoon to book a reservation and they said they don’t take reservations as they have queues outside around 7/8pm, the only queues I saw forming were outside spice village. Should have just gone there tried and tested. Honestly I’ve had better food! The kabli pilau looked like normal pilau rice with the carrots and raisins thrown on top with no taste what so ever , chicken karahi was dry, I’ve had better. Afghan palace is the place to go for authentic kabli pilau and A good chicken karahi you won’t be disappointed. This place is over priced and rubbish not once did anyone come over to ask us how the food was. Ruined Father’s Day for us I definitely don’t recommend this place the food is horrendous even the kids popcorn chicken was inedible over fried Waste of money
Portion size was great. Food was tasty. Decent customer service. Not giving 5 stars because drinks were room temp on a hot summers evening and had to keep asking for ice. But will defo be visiting again.
Been here a couple of times in the past, enjoyed the food on both occassions, the restaurant has plenty of seating and a great menu. I usually go for the grill. On this occassion I had wings and chips and a portion of lamb chops which come with naan bread. The food was good and had great flavour and was cooked to perfection and the staff were attentative and provided great service. Prices are about average for Southall. Overall would recommend
