Great stop to see the old rectory. Parking can be difficult but it’s pretty much in the village centre so it’s easily accessible. Information signs there to tell you about the history of the ruins. One large building with several rooms and features to see. Also a nice grass area at the back. Very well maintained. A hidden Gem
Interesting little place. Fine for a brief visit. Free for all English Heritage car park up the hill 159 MTRS from the entrance. Car park clearly signed. Car park also allows access to Warton Crag, pleasant hiking area and nature reserve
First English Heritage i have visited in the last 3 years. It was tucked away between a tow of houses opposite the church. We probably spent a max of ten minutes here. There is little to see other than the walled ruins of the old rectory. Impressive in terms of the thickness of the wall and the fact it has survived so so long. It will still be here in 500 years
Whilst a beautiful historic ruin be advised there is no parking other than in the main road. It is a very small site, with no toilets, cafe or shop. With this in mind it is a lovely but of history opposite the church. Worth having a look at if passing.
Simple ruined Rectory in quite a historic village. Visit the Church opposite too and discover the village's relationship with George Washington
A little disappointed; no toilet facilities or directions to public toilets. Although the grounds were well kept and interesting, there was little to explore and not much information about the site. The local houses are extremely close, overlooking the site, so we can't enjoy a picnic. After ten minutes we left. Must be a lovely place for the local residents but not worth an hour drive with young children.
Lovely walk up Warton crag/quarry
Nice place to stop off whilst driving back south from the lakes to break up the journey. Lovely old ruins but not much to see. Tho I can recommend popping in if Your passing. But check to see if it’s open when you go as I think it closes over winter.
Tiny little spot, won't take long to look around, but is in a nice little village. Worth a stop if you are in the area
Called in to Warton Old Rectory on our way to Carnforth. Not a very large ruin but has some information boards so you know what you are looking at and worth a stop off if you are passing that way
