Visited for the first time. We had to queue 45 minutes for the first tee although we was bang on time for our tee time. In the end it took over 5 hours to play 18 holes which is a joke. Seems like poor organisation. The greens aren’t in the best condition. Wouldn’t visit again.
Played on a Sunday morning, unfortunately we were behind 3 4balls, tee of delayed by 20mins which wasn't too bad. We eventually walked off the course on the 13th hole which took us 3hrs 45 minutes to reach. The course was heavy which is understandable in these conditions. Would like to play again in the summer
Truly blown away by this course. Given it's a pay and play course I'm really impressed by the quality of the design, the layout and the length of this course. There are lots of demanding holes for even the most experienced players. Long and open holes makes this enjoyable for big hitters, but theres plenty of obstacles, trees, water hazards and dog legs that will test you. The standard of the green keeping is excellent and what you'd expect from a full membership course. Very picturesque scenery, but very hilly course. Be careful if you plan on carrying a full set of clubs as its tiring to walk the full 18. Buggies are available at the pro shop as is a wide range of clubs, clothing and accessories. The pro and his staff are all very helpful and capable and the prices are very good value for money. I would highly recommend this course to casual and serious players alike.
A popular municipal golf course with a wide, forgiving layout that’s sadly let done by the standard of its greens. Most tee boxes are slanted and the fairways were littered with mounds of cut grass. However, the long Par 3s are great and there’s plenty of dog-leg par 4s that require shot variety from the tee. A long course that’s clearly well liked.
Great public course. Course layout and variety is great, even if the greens and fairways could do with more TLC, but as its a public course and cheap to play one cannot moan
Went as a group and hired a buggy, course was in great condition and the staff were friendly. Had a pint in the bar afterwards prices were very good
A very good test for any golfer, cheap to play too.
Played my first ever round or golf here so can't compare to other places but to me great course nice greens an Ts an nice welcoming people
Love the course. Can be a great workout on a warm day, but I love the elevation changes all over the course. Usually in very good condition and doesn't get too boggy when it's wet. For a casual golfer this is one of my favourite municipal courses. The facilities for changing, eating etc are sparse, but great for turn up and play golf.
1st time I've played this course & really enjoyed it. The fact we managed to get a buggy was an added bonus.
