Attended the annual Gosport Festival here. A great event and inexpensive for a whole weekend. Loads of bands some are well know and others local who really deliver. Very friendly atmosphere and lots of fun and dancing.
It's a pond! Good place for RC boats although in weekends and here are some chaps with expensive looking sailing boats so best to go later in afternoon they are there in the morning also, it's quite funny to watch them as they get quite carried away with their sailing activities.
Pleasant park in Gosport. A tidal lake with jellyfish good for crabbing and racing model boats. A play park for both toddler's and older kids; a zip line. An outdoor gym. Picnic tables, nice waterside walks and a basketball net if I remember correctly. Car park and bus stops near by. Only issue. No toilet and a bit difficult to reach the park from the car park if a wheelchair user. There is also a cafe.
A few people enjoying the sun but not too busy. Tidy but some of the exercise equipment is broken, damaged by inconsiderate people I guess. I don't think of it as a romantic spot but could be wrong after seeing a used condom just outside the play area. My grand daughter had fun there though and we watched the boats racing on the pond.
It's a nice green space in the middle of town. There's a pond with moon jellyfish in april/may. Lots of children come down with their nets and jam jars.
Great festival we loved it .
As I work away in different counties and stay in bed and breakfasts quite often but the plough Inn i have to say is unique,it's real and rustic and the rooms are kept to a very good standard.the landlady Steph couldn't be more helpful, very pleasant and always greeted with a warm smile making one very comfortable. I'll definitely come back and stay again...VERY IMPRESSED!! Brian William Chessman
Just a nice open space between Stoke rd and the town centre .its use for all sorts of events ,circus, funfairs, music festival, car rally s charity events ect It's divided by by south relief rd . The southern half has the yacht ponds, cafe play and exercise area and haslar lake formally known as the creek :
Falklands 40th anniversary, attended this with my husband and brother-in-lawwho served during the war, also my two nephews.Very well organised.
Overall a really lovely area. So many events are held on the smaller part of the park near Morrison's. The cockle pond is lovely and hosts model boat races. Great cafe overlooking the pond. The only negative I would mention is the play park which we avoid after some nasty incidents with other "parents" supposedly looking after their children.
