I am not quite sure why the reviews are so bad. I have just joined this surgery and so far I find it pretty outstanding compared to my last surgery. I am on the telephone for max 8 minutes. Appointment same day. Got another appointment for bloods, asthma review for the following week. Dr said she would send a referral to hospital for an X-ray. I couldn’t believe 7 days later I get a hospital appointment for next week. All staff very helpful and the nurses are extremely friendly. Sorry but this surgery deserves more than 2 stars. Well done Wallis Avenue surgery, keep up your outstanding work.
It is almost impossible to get through a telephone line and find help from the Doctors there. If you are lucky and someone picks up your phone from the other end, they will tell you about how busy they are and that there is no possible time for an appointment. And even if you miraculously will get this appointment there is no guaranty that the Doctor will call you, as it was happened to me a few times already. I did my blood test on May 2022 and was asked to call back in one week for the result. I called and the receptionist told me that only a doctor can explain the result and that the doctor will call me back. Since that time I'm waiting for that call. I have no idea what happened with my body and almost lost hope to find the answer and help from the local GP. I really want to change this practice if possible for myself and my family as I feel stress and mistrust them. Would not recommend it to anyone.
I've found always the staff polite and helpful despite difficulties getting through on telephone. Nursing staff and doctor extremely helpful once you get appt..to either speak on the phone /decision to be seen. I believe in these days a little time on phone /wait although irritating is something we all have to tolerate. We've been with Surgery three years now and found overall service always prompt and helpful toward us.
This is the best surgery! Everyone is kind and helpful. Since I moved to this surgery I've had amazing support for my mental health All the staff are lovely kind and efficient and do what they can to help. I'm so greatful.
My Nan has been a patient here for a few months now and everyone from reception staff to doctors have all been brilliant, very helpful empathetic and friendly.
My daughter has a bladder infection. She rang, couldn't see a doctor. They don't do urine tests after 12.00. Next day she was at the surgery 8.00 to make sure she would be seen. She did a urine sample. They were supposed to ring back. She rang them, but the surgery was closed for training. This isn't something that warrants a trip to a&e. Disgusting my daughter has been treated like this. Have a training day on a weekend.
Never had a problems with them they all do their best until stress that they been having surgery and hospital
Absolutely appalling service, I waited on the phone for 50 minutes to then be cut off....i needed a routine appointment and even though these can be booked after 2 pm no one answers the phone! O stars from me!
Appalled at the rude confrontational staff here. Can hardly get an appointment. Have waited all week to finally get a appointment to be put through to a nurse who cannot give out prescriptions not an actual doctor so could not get my medication sorted. I am in so much pain. Was told it will be sorted today and I will get a prescription. When I went to the surgery to collect it I was met with rude staff one of which came into the waiting room infront of people and shouted qt me. Would not listen to what I had to say qnd told me they are too busy and I will not be getting my prescription and I cannot wait there for it and if I do they will call the police I will be going strait to cqc with this! Not the first time something like this has happened. Totally avoid this surgery!!!!!!I've just edited this to add that since this...I have had q 111 call from q doctor that prescribed me my medication only to be told when I got to the doctors to pick it up that my doctor had refused it. So I qgain got an appointment with the doctor there after a lot of phone calls qnd telling them how important it was who agreed that I need stronger medication and to go pick it up from the chemist. I went to collect it qnd the chemist told me the doctor changed thier mind qnd has refused it and and asked for the prescription back! I phoned them and they had no reason why. I have had to suffer now for weeks and have had enough of this joke of a surgery so called 111 again. This time I received a prescription but only for 1 week so when calling the surgery as advised they asked me to send photos of the box of medication to prove it. Its a joke it realy is this has been ongoing for 3 or 4 weeks now with no medication for my pain condition. Struggling with my kids and in agony. Do not use this surgery!!!!!
Waited 33mins on the phone just to be cut off! I know the county healthcare is in a mess but why let people wait counting down what number you are in the queue to cut them off….if they can’t even answer the phone you have no hope of an appointment! Very bad
