A family-run Craft Brewery & Eatery creating uniquely local, fabulously flavoursome small batches of artisan beer and food.

Story

This city has an exceptional brewing & distilling heritage spanning from the brewery in Sir Henry Dowcra’s Fort in 1607, to the closure of the world-famous Watts & Company distillery in 1925.
That day in 1925 spelt the beginning of a barren period for local beers and spirits.
The beer market in particular has been consolidated and controlled by large overseas multinationals, with marketeers brewing fizzy insipid lagers.

Until now.

The Walled City Brewery will make uniquely local, premium quality, fabulously flavoursome craft beers in small artisan batches, using recipes that Masterbrewer James has been painstakingly perfecting over the last 12 years.

One word Amazing. A fairly new restaurant trying to take off. Our tour stopped here and the food was AMAZING. We started with a bean soup that was so full of flavor. Next we had a choice of lamb meatloaf, smoked pork and grilled chicken in a heavenly sauce. We finished with a chocolate cheesecake. We are on a 12 day tour if Ireland and the Walled City Brewery had the best food by far.

My family and friends booked dinner here in Walled City Brewery and I'm very glad we did. The food was incredible, and at very reasonable prices. We had a great selection of food to choose from and had a variety of tapas before our main course which we all agreed tasted delicious (I personally opted for the Korean BBQ beef rump for mains, which I highly recommend. My mouth is watering even thinking about it). We enjoyed sampling the selection of in-house craft beers also, which made the experience all the more enjoyable (I recommend the 'Boom' pale ale). The venue itself has a great vibe. A nice atmosphere and trendy decor. The staff were top-class. They were very attentive and friendly. We had children with us who were well looked after, and who enjoyed their food from the kids' menu, and coloring, which took away any potential for stress or pressure from the adults, allowing us to enjoy our afternoon even more ;-) All-in-all, a highly enjoyable experience - so much so that as a result I felt compelled to write my first-even restaurant review! I hope others will find this useful. If you're in the area and looking for a place to go for some food or a few drinks, check this place out! What a fantastic evening we had here. Food was excellent. Drink was brilliant. What seem like a great place to work, all the staff were helpful and happy in there place of work. A place you should visit!

Cam to Derry for the weekend and had dinner their. We were a group of more than 30 people and the service was spotless. The story of the brewery, the people who work their and the food and beverage were all fantastic. If I come back to Derry, I know where to go for food.

Honestly THE best food in town! I would try the Duck, it was delicious! I would say that this is number two to Parisian Duck! They have a great selection of beer, not that Guinness isn’t good but this is a very welcomed changed! The servers were both amazing and VERY friendly. Everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommend this place
