Interesting place to visit. Handy leaflet for 20p in the honesty box, which gave you a couple of walks to follow giving you detailed info at points along the way. Great scenery and despite its proximity to the motorway, lovely and peaceful. Interesting ruins with information boards at the different areas. Unfortunately the museum was closed which was disappointing but we unfortunately picked the wrong weekend to visit. Hopefully be back another time to take a look inside.
Really fab site. Great to see the ruins and read the various information signs placed around it. It was lovely and peaceful, with stunning views of the countryside. The museum is small, but has a good range of artefacts and stonework to view. It's all free to enter. The 2 people manning the museum were welcoming, approachable and friendly. They were very knowledgeable and great to chat with. The site itself has steps to get into the field so isn't wheelchair accessible, but the museum is. Parking is great, plenty of spaces and no charges. There are also some picnic benches under a shaded area next to it. The site has 2 walks to do. One at 1.3 miles and the other at 2.4. There is a helpful map in the car park and plenty of signs to point you in the direction you want to go. Dogs are welcome but please pick up after them! A bowl of water is left outside the museum, which is a lovely touch. So many places are very anti dog and it was awesome to find somewhere that accepts them. I will be back with my own 2 for another visit. They will love a walk around the trails. It's a beautiful place so be responsible, tidy up after yourselves and be respectful to the villagers!
With good structure to receive visitors. Roman buildings dating from the 2nd century are the main attraction of the place, it is also worth a visit to the small Baptist church that is just behind the Roman ruins.
An interesting piece of history. Unfortunately, I arrived after the museum had already closed but I took a wander around the exposed walls, I didn't do either the trails. There's a small car park at the beginning of the trails with 4 picnic benches under trees to rest and eat. It would make for an interesting day out.
A really good example of a Roman town, we love seeing Roman remains after going to Rome and seeing it, love imagining what it would have been like. The museum was shut at the time gutted.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Called in mid week and had the place to ourselves although the car park was full of car that had obviously been there for a more than 24 hours. I suspect from local houses.
Lovely village for a walk, if I'd had more time it would have been good to go further

Loved this historic place right in the heart of England
A great open space to see the remains of a baths and another large 'mansio'. The area is a 2 min walk from a small free carpark. The museum is currently closed because of the Lockdown but the ruins are fully accessible.
