Lovely fish and chip shop, well worth the long queue!! We have visited here several times and have never been disappointed. Everything is freshly cooked and delicious, with a great selection. They even have a great vegetarian menu. There is occasionally a large queue to order, which we have seen stretch out onto the pavement on numerous occasions during the summer, but we can honestly say it's worth the wait! At other chippies, we have seen staff taking orders from people in the queue with a notepad and pen to speed up service a bit, so it would be good to see this place adopt a similar system, especially during the really busy times. Always lovely and clean inside, and staff have always been friendly. Easy to park in the large pay and display car park opposite. It is situated right on the sea front, so couldn't be better as far as location is concerned. Over all, highly recommend!
We enjoy some decent fish and chips wherever we're out at the coast and this place is our favourite. Despite being the only chippy in town they're not taking the easy option. Instead they seem to consistently produce decent food which is a credit to them. Tasty, well-cooked chips and great quality fish in a crisp batter has kept us coming back for more over the past year. The word is out so there's always a queue but your effort will be rewarded with satisfying food that will make you want to leave a glowing review. Just like this one!
This is a fantastic Fish & Chip shop! The chips , fish and batter were perfect and some of the best I've had around the country. They even use good sized plastic forks so you can actually eat easily, unlike with those horrible small wooden forks supplied by many shops. Totally recommended if in the area.
Excellent. Fish perfectly cooked with light crispy batter. Chips nice and crispy at edges. Scampi very good with a nice fresh garnish. There were some negative comments from last year, but I believe the structure of the business has recently changed for the better. Well recommended.
We fancied Fish and Chips today so went to Aberdyfi in the hope we'd get some, we spotted this chip shop just opposite the car park entrance so we went in as it opened at 12:00. The large cod was lovely, golden crisps batter and great fresh fish, the chips were amazing, we don't normally eat many chips so had one portion between us and ate them all, we took them over to the beach to sit and eat in the sunshine, couldn't be better than that, great fish and chips on a nice sunny beach !!
Really good fish and chips at a sensible price. The queue is quite long at lunch however, it's worth the wait and the staff don't hang about. Really lovely staff who are clearly working their socks off! A queue out of the door and you can see why.
Three of us had fish and chips for our T here last night, we added mushy peas, gravy and a curry sauce with a couple of pots of tomato sauce. Very good indeed, decent size fish cooked perfectly. The chip's were nicely done too, very tasty. All the extras didn't fail either, we thoroughly enjoyed the food. Inside social distancing measures are still in place, 4 allowed in at any one time. Very clean, tidy and organized inside with safety screens at the till. We sat outside on their benches and enjoyed our meal with a lovely view of the estuary going out to sea. We'll done to all of the team supplying a great service and looking after your customers. We will be visiting again next time we are in the area.
Fantastic fish and chips. They can get busy but when you taste the food you can see why. Delicious. Enjoyed it and will definitely be going back for more.
omg fish is superb , best fish we have had for a long time. well worth the wait. - think they have really done a great job in organising their system. basically only 4 allowed in shop , so you queue and enter via the back/side door - when you get to the door they ask you what you would like to order - its then put into cook, so its hot & fresh. No soggy batter or dry chips Clean shop. Friendly staff. Good food. excellent portions. reasonable prices. Just be prepared to queue ... but its worth it.
Visited here the other day on a day trip to Aberdovey - we were surprised it was open at lunch as it was winter but this meant our chips were cooked fresh. As a vegan I was extremely pleased they cook in veg oil and there was also a vegan menu with a few options on. Chips were lovely crispy on outside and soft in the middle and the guy serving was lovely and friendly. Would 100% recommend a visit! Dietary restrictions: There was a whole vegan menu to choose from and lots of allergy information in the shop.
