A very relaxing and open free space with a wide range of books and facilities such as computers, a coffee machine, seating and a study area. I enjoy coming here to chill and do work, the one thing that brings this library's rating down is it's uninspiring design.
Very well planned, with lot of books. Kids section is a must visit
It's a lovely place with friendly staff, the place is a little cold though. Visited the library and had some help from the lovely volunteer Stella doing ancestry research. Had a cuppa in the cafe opposite which was also very nice
Took our just 2 year old grandson to the museum, which is really interesting, more so for grandparents. Yet still plenty for children to play at, and with lovely staff, obviously in the right social skills arena. And then upstairs to the library, namely the childrens section, to read our toddler any of the plethora of books available. Said child was happy hiding in the booths. So development roads to Shakespeare on hold this time. It's a long time since I walked into a library, and I was impressed with the size and cleanliness here. Well done to all. Enjoy.
It is the best Library so far that I am concerned. The children loves the collection of books. Excellent team service and customer support. I also love the books and it is a calm and serene environment to study. If I could give it a hundred stars I will. Kudos to the team
Wakefield library looks like an excellent place for books, media and studying. I can only really comment on the children's section as this where I took my grandson on the school's library day. The library was organised and prepared for receiving the class of 30+ reception kids. The librarian presenter did a nice job of reading a story that saw participation by nearly all the kids. She then led in a sing along which all the kids seemed to enjoy. Afterwards, the children were given 45 minutes to browse the children's section of the library and parents were encouraged to find a book to read to their youngster. The selection of children's books was vast and included books in several different languages to cater to the public and the diversity of this class. There were plenty of places to sit and enjoy reading a good story to your children. An excellent field trip for the children to a wonderful library with an exceptional children's section.
Lots of safety measures and full access to books, reduced computer access but some still available, books quarantined between return and borrowing.
Great big library, lots of computers, lots books and great reading sessions for kids - I’ll be back to try one of these. Printing is also an ok price. Staff are very helpful, but do seem to think they are slightly above everyone else. The lady was helpful but just a little bit snotty and cold which was slightly disappointing.
Love hanging in the library swotting up on what I'm working on at the time. The staff are lovely and very helpful and it's a nice environment to come and work in if like me, you work from home a lot.
Good space in Wakefield, The place when is situated give more options, as a Wakefield museum and a lovely Caffe downstairs. Every thing good situated and with extra support services as an startup network, the only con why I see is they fon have a numerous book collection.
