If there is an award for the worst Waitrose store in the country, it would have to go to Leighton Buzzard branch. It’s like a supermarket from 20 years ago. There are flies crawling all over the cakes see photo below half the freezer section and veg section is empty. Lots of teenage staff standing around chatting to each other after 6pm. I was in the Abergavenny Waitrose at the weekend, it was as if a different company was running it. The cakes were in a sealed cabinet. They had a sushi section that was equal if not better than Sainsburys in Milton Keynes. Waitrose LB is a right dive, if your someone passing through, carry on to the next town and avoid disappointment.
A community minded supermarket who is always on hand to help with local projects. The prices of the food aren't as pricy as people make out and some of the other similar supermarkets are more pricier.
Great place to shop. Always friendly assistance and a wonderful selection of products including lovely flowers and plants.
If we're being entirely honest; no riff-raff or screaming kids and an excellent offering of high quality groceries you can't get anywhere else. Great.
I visited the shop today and was Was told to prove my age to purchase alcohol at the age of 57 by a very snotty fat till operator, never again, and further more very expensive compared to other high street shops
Used self serve till so no waiting. Had everything I needed bar one item.
I like to browse for interesting products they do have some that other stores don't
Setting a 1 hour parking time limit The Leighton Buzzard Waitrose centre is very clever, devious and sneaky. There's just 1 warning sign as you drive in and should you choose to do your shopping at Waitrose, spend some time in the Vape shop choosing flavours and have lunch at Domino's your parking will certainly exceed an hour and the parking charge will be £40! What a bunch of sharks! I've paid and will park again however my loyalty is gone and all you are now is a service provider. Best you provide going forward!
Amazing shop, the partners where very friendly and help full
Normally expect Waitrose to be among the better supermarkets but visit yesterday was awful. Customers not bothered about social distancing, staff seemingly unaware they were all congregating in the same areas to stock shelves thereby making the situation worse. One particular irk - fresh chickens in small specific weight, large specific weight or medium various weights, including larger than large and not as good value as Aldi's premium offering. Overall, disappointed.
