I really like this place, nice concept. Quick service and some good food. Food looks well, and it tastes great. But just a warning if you decide to order the firecracker from the menu; order a big bottle of water because it is really a firecracker in your mouth.
I wouldn’t line up for food certainly not in Canterbury. There are so many great places to choose from here. Wagamama fans line up on weekend evenings for the fresh and tasty Asian for modern sensibilities variety of creative vegan options- thank you ! In a city full of options I’d opt for a quiet afternoon lunch here during the week when I can walk in, sit down and get served like normal- cuz it’s quality and value here is good; but normal not blow mind good.
Best for gluten free, dairy free, nut free,etc.they got separate menus. They now got variety of deserts for the above as well, really enjoyed it after a long time a dairy free desert. Great customer service than any other restaurant, value customer's well being to the up most than anywhere else I have been.my go to restaurant.

It's always great food , but it's comes at different times or starter came when I was 1/2 wat through my mains & my friends came much later then mine , Dietary restrictions: My friend said she couldn't eat peanuts not an allergy so we had to wait for a manager to take our order , that's why my main come first & hers took a long time after along with the starter..
EDIT: Updated my review to 3 stars as I was contacted by the staff after leaving feedback of my previous visit, and they kindly gave me a gift card which I really appreciated. Came for another visit to use it, had the spicy miso mackerel which was pretty good. I still feel wagamama is a bit pricey for what it is and the flavours are quite bland, but I think it's a solid place for a friend group gathering. Staff is very friendly! Original review below: Wagamama is usually pretty good, but this time I had the shirodashi pork belly ramen, and was disappointed. Broth barely had any flavour, some of the noodles had stuck together in a clump, and the pork belly was alright, but I seemed to have gotten an edge piece that was very dry and rock hard. Also, the tea-stained eggs have no flavour at all - they don't seem to have really been marinated in anything, they're just soft boiled eggs dyed brown. The white chocolate and ginger cheesecake is pretty good, but nothing special. I did enjoy the ginger no-jito mocktail though, that had a very nice kick to it! All in all, the atmosphere is nice for a friend group gathering, but for a solo diner it was a bit too busy and cafeteria-like. Would recommend Happy Samurai or Tamago over wagamama any day.
Best asian food in Canterbury ! Service is fast, food is good, Price are fine and they even give you the calories for each Dishes !
My children think this place deserves 10 stars. Great food, fast service, pretty cheap compared to other places with the same quality food.
Where to begin, I had never been to a wagamamas before... The portion size was on point for the price paid, tasted fresh, very well presented and the server was lovely. Different ways to pay the bill worked and over cleanliness of the restaurant was good. Toilets as per many places left to be desired and could of done with being cleaned rather than left in such poor state. The option of chopsticks or cutlery to eat with was good although I did use the chopsticks seeing others not was nice. I was full from main and sides didn't have room for dessert but will definitely try at some point.
It was my first experience in Wagamama, and for sure I will coming back; very original natural juices and good quality in all. The service was amazing, quick and effective.Food: 5/5
