It’s a good shop, but I’m very frustrated right now. I called in asking about a box set of books to see if they had it, the lady on the phone told me she would ask someone else and the call was cut. I rang back 3 times and it completely rang off. I understand you may be busy but that it no excuse, especially since the call was cut when I first rang. Very disappointed.
Went in today and received the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life, the lady at the till completely ignored me. Put my item in the bag and walked off. When I heard her speak to other costumers she was just completely rude. I hope that she sees this review because I just want her to know that she could serve somebody that hasn't spoke to anyone all day and a simple hello and acknowledgement could make such a positive impact to their day if they're having a bad day. Just smile and try to make small conversation it can make the world of difference.
Had a huge selection of books and magazines! I love the card section because they seem more original than other places. My son loves the stationary section and always saves his money for when there are deals on pens. Nice clean shop.
Absolutely atrocious customer service. Went in today at lunchtime to find post office was closed for lunch so tried to buy stamps from the till but no member of staff on the shop floor! Pressed the bell several times but no one came. Surely not good enough to have no staff at all. Very badly managed.
Have only really used the post office upstairs.... but i use it a lot! One of the best with regards to staff, service and waiting times don't think i have ever waited longer than 2 mins and rarely have any queue at all Lift access is at the back of the store
It is what it is. There's nothing special about WH Smith, whether it's this one or any other. Decent selection of books, magazines and stationary, but also the usual assault of "Would you like [generic confectionary stacked up by the tills] it's only £1". If I wanted chocolate I'd have picked some up. And I really don't need a fist full of vouchers with my receipt either.
Good shop. Helpful staff. Useful to have Post Office on site. Good to see W H Smith shops still on our high streets in this age of retail doom and gloom.
It is what it is and always has been. Useful for all your stationery, magazines, newspapers and books. My one gripe is the ubiquitous self serve machines. I want to be served by a person not a machine.
High Street chain, known for providing newspapers, magazines, cards, books, stationery and confectionery. They also provide a post office service on the first floor., with a post box on the first floor. Easy access from Castle Street for both able and disabled people alike.
Always a reasonable amount of books, stationary, pens etc. But as always, one of the more expensive shops in the town. This company always has been expensive for years! In fact, I'm expecting this one to disappear like MFI, Woolworths etc.
