Very average in some ways, and a let down in others.nnStaff: Very friendly and helpful, can't fault them.nnSeats: Average - we've paid to upgrade in the past and can't honestly see the difference between the chairs. They're okay, other cinemas are better.nnVenue: Dirty. The escalators were broken last night so steps it was. Not sure how long they've been like that, but the lobby is not very inviting at all.nnIn the main hall area there is a lot of unused space, not sure what could be put there but it's just dimly lit and the floor was unclean.nnBathroom: A few broken toilets in the ladies. When I came out of the cubicle I noticed one of the soap dispensers all lacking soap had fallen into the sink, and the same sink was covered in grey stuff - it looked like cement or something. Not sure.nnHowever, the hand dryers were an excellent choice, the best I've ever seen in fact.nnPricing: We got free tickets through sky. We bought a large popcorn and 2 medium coke zero's. This came to a whopping £17.99! I know it's a cinema but I just don't get how British cinemas charge so much! When I went to Australia it was so cheap, it just blows my mind!
Disappointing in almost every aspect.nThe online chat service is a great place to start… they kept me on hold for 59 minutes, only to drop the chat when I didn’t reply within 4 minutes. What’s good for the goose and all that…nI would normally only go to the showcase, and vue have ensured i am a lifelong devotee.nThe car park has no affiliation to the cinema which feels bizarre, surely some arrangement for patrons would be beneficial?nShowcase has free parking…. Just saying.nOn arrival, the escalators were out of action, so we used the lift. No issue in itself, but helps build the narrative of my experience.nThe drinks machine was out of service, surrounded by wet floor signs. The large TV display made of 9 panels had 1 panel out of action.nYou’re starting to get the idea.nnWe ordered a couple of drinks, which seemed a little chaotic and overly long for what was in front of us. When it was our turn at the counter, it was decorated with popcorn which the colleague pushed onto the floor. She was pleasant enough, but forgot one of our drinks and I had to ask for it despite paying for it she paused for a while and handed us a receipt when the drink was the missing member of our party.nnThe coffee wasn’t half bad, and the toilets smelled great and appeared clean. You’ve saved yourself a star here at least.nnI booked the VIP seats, imagining a nice plush chair, soft and forgiving, leather style of some description, reclining with extra leg room.nBoy, how wrong I was. Not good.nThe chairs were small, had pieces of leatherette missing, cracked or scratched. They’d clearly seen a lot of action, and I don’t mean the latest die hard film. The cup holder still had rubbish inside it, the chair did not recline and was rock solid. Think a low cost airline and you’re halfway there.nIf I’d had the option to seek a refund and drive to showcase, I would’ve happily aborted my mission and left a happier man.nnMy fellow patrons, were on their phones throughout, and talking loudly throughout. The fact the seats are so close together does not help.nOther sound based issues, the mixing for this film was terrible!!! It’s my strong assumption this wasn’t a production issue, it would be too obvious and detracting. The treble and therefore speech was so compressed and clipped it felt detached from the film. I’ve never come across anything quite like it. The bass was brilliant to be fair, but only an idiot fixates on the school boy mantra of making your chair shake being enough to compensate for the detriment of the spoken word. My other issue here, and I’m going to sound like an old man, the volume was just ridiculous. Again, I return to the image of a school boy twisting nobs and sliders to make the sound incredibly loud and bass driven. It hurt my ears, and I go to gigs a lot and have moshed a few pits in my time.nLast but not least.nThe temperature of the auditorium was genuinely the worst of it, I heard several others complain throughout the film; it was easily 30+ degrees. Very unpleasant.nFor the first time I considered asking for my money back, it was a rubbish experience.nIn short I won’t be back, but nice toilets.
Overall a good experience and great value for money. Ticket prices are great food prices are expensive but as expected in a cinema. Great when we take kids as the kids snack deals are better value for money. Our last visit was a little disappointing, staff weren't as friendly as usual and there was no classic coca cola which is a little disappointing on a Saturday night.
Excellent service on Saturday night. We had already been informed before going in that there were no adverts due to some malfunction what a shame!! and we got seated fine in our pre booked tickets. The manager then came in to apologise for the air conditioning being broken and for the heat. We all got a free voucher to go back again and we could also choose if we wanted to go to an alternative showing on the film later that night.nWe happily stayed to watch the film and at the end we were greeted with a nice cold bottle of water for free.nExcellent customer services. Thank you. First time I've been to a Vue and will definitely be returning.
