Some nice people work here, that's where the good ends. Management pick and choose when company policy applies, when challenged it is justified by "I'm the boss I do what I want". They have signs everywhere about respect being a two way street, what they don't tell you is it is all traffic in one direction. Maintenance is a joke too, machines only get serviced when they go catastrophically wrong which means targets get missed and job security goes down the pan. It really comes to something when an agency temp offers to do a service operators job for them despite the fact that service ops get paid £10.50 an hour to stand around chatting and it's everyone else's fault all the lines aren't equipped. The race card gets played a lot here too which excuses gross misconduct. The directors of Vitacress are well aware of these problems(and many many more) yet are in no hurry to amend them. This is all the tip of the iceberg. I haven't even mentioned that training is non existent, empty promises regarding extra training among other things in addition to the fact their payroll have no idea how to work out tax codes so you will frequently get a big rebate. the thing is they could easily turn it around as they have all the policies in place but they simply ignore them and play by their own rules.

I`m one of many woman's that were brought from Portugal (1999/2000)to work in this factory and to live in Cressington house , in conditions very close to slavery, in Vitacress I learn the true meaning of racism and discrimination, we had to work longer hours and less breaks than the locals, no right to be sick or Chris Brown (HR) would came and left us from the bed with threats as many of my colleagues was fired and immediately put out the house and no place to go...I don't have good memories from this place.

A good place to work. Friendly staff and management. Has its on watercress beds. A great environment. Bag salad and salad bowls.
