I popped in here today to buy some gifts of which there are a good selection and the friendly man on the till asked me about our trip. When he heard that we were on our way to Durness he kindly gave me a map with his suggestions of places to visit on the way. This changed our whole route and without it we wouldn't have seen the beautiful Ardvrek Castle or spent a very happy couple of hours on the sunny Achmelvich Beach. The dog was happy too! Thank you so much for your advice - it has contributed to making this a trip of a lifetime!
Lovely and helpful staff with good tips and suggestions. Lovely little gift shop available too
This is one of the better tourist information centres that I've visited. In addition to the usual leaflets, there were a wide range of books on sale and the walls were covered in large scale maps. We were able to discuss our travel plans and get advice on places to visit and how easy the roads were to travel along. The staff also suggested good places to stop for coffee and also spoke to foreign visitors in their language.
Owing to it's knowledgeable and friendly staff, this information centre is a must for anyone visiting the region for the first time. One staff member in particular, John, changed our day and impacted our plans for days to come after sharing his expertise and insights regarding the region. Just a wonderful service, delivered by a wonderful team. We can't thank them enough.
We were doing the north coast 500 roadtrip and stopped off at Ullapool for lunch on one of our legs - I cannot recommend this I centre enough. The staff were so friendly and gave us great recommendations for the area. Thank you so much!
Really friendly and efficient service. Arrived in Ullapool at 6 on a Friday, so was fairly pessimistic about getting anywhere to stay. The lovely staff quickly sorted a great B&B for us.
Very help staff know the town, area, and NC 500 route and attractions. Talk with them before setting off from Ullapool to make sure you don't miss anything good and leave plenty of time.
We called in on Thursday 14 September. Just wanted to say thanks to Kathleen for taking time to highlight things to do on the North Coast 500 up to Durness, and recommending the Quinag walk and helpfully noting them all on a map for us!. Also, for the campsite list. We followed her advice and our trip was greatly enhanced as a result : Kathleen's genuine enthusiasm for the area really made a difference. Thanks again!
Over 18 months, this is the third time I have phoned the iCentre in Ullapool for information regarding accommodation, and I can not praise the staff enough. They have been unfailingly helpful, sympathetic and friendly - I wish more places were like this. 5 stars are not enough!
Unfortunately we were stuck outside the Centre for a short while at lunchtime. However we had a great chat with Peter whilst we were waiting for Kath with the keys and the watch that had stopped.I knew that the task we had set Kath to find the accommodation we needed was a tall order. However Kath not only came up trumps eventually after a great deal of hard graft but was also welcoming and enjoyaed a good craic whilst doing it. Thanks Kath.
