The Virgin Money staff are incompetent beyond belief. At every posssible stage of opening my Virgin Current Account they have messed me about: not picking up the phone, not allowing me to have a single appointment to open my account in weeks, not phoning me back despite promising me they would (based on my endless experiences with them, I told them ten times they wouldn't ring, and lo and behold, despite waiting days, they didn't). Despite the glitzy exterior, the reality is the staff are extremely inexperienced and unreliable. They can't do ANYTHING because apparently everything can only be done by headquarters in Newcastle. They NEVER call you back despite stating they will. Virgin Money's overall banking service is antiquated and mediocre. You can't do transactions online. You can't open an account online. Your credit check takes a week (whereas other banks do the credit check in real time). You can't do transfers online. Transfers - even between your internal accounts with them - take a few days each time! They put countless obstacles in your path to withdraw your own money from the branches... they act as though the money is theirs. Don't forget this is the same bunch of people who ran Northern Rock into the ground and caused it to go bust. Virgin Money is just a rebrand of Northern Rock with the same incompetent, third rate staff who led to its desmise. I could go on and on. This bank is awful.
