Vineyard Compassion

About

Vineyard Compassion provides people with emotional and practical support at their point of need while empowering them to tackle the underlying root causes.

Story

Vineyard Compassion is a Coleraine based charity that brings together an established range of community based projects that offer a holistic approach to tackling poverty and its underlying root causes.

Our mission is ‘to provide people with practical and emotional support at their point of need while empowering them to tackle the underlying root causes’.

A key focus is always on the person and not just simply their ‘problem’, as we seek to restore dignity and revive hope. Another priority is to empower people to move from dependence to independence, where we don’t simply give a ‘hand out’ but a ‘hand up’.

Vineyard Compassion currently delivers over 702 interventions to individuals and families each month and during 2016 over 290 volunteers were involved in organising and delivering this support. The 19 different projects are overseen and managed by 10 full-time and 3 part-time staff members. These projects include a Foodbank, Clothing Bank, Debt Counselling, Job Club, Supported Volunteering work programme, Life Skills course, Recovery Support Group, Supported Housing, Drop In Centre, Allotment… and more. Great car boot sale on the first Saturday of every month. Craft stalls, meat and veg. Large selection of stuff
The market is on the first Saturday of every month with a £1 entrance fee per person which I believe goes to good causes. It has two indoor areas which is great for a rainy day.nnThe market is a great place to find a bargain with special mention to the clothes stall and the bric-a-brac stall that are ran by Vineyard Compassion themselves, with all profits going to charity.
We saw the road side sign for the market. Was more car boot sale but some market stalls veg stall was impressive. Local farmer with butcher meat. Would visit again when in the area
A wonderful car boot sale and a wonderful cause. Accessible toilets are fantastic
The loveliest people I’ve ever met . They are so helpful and have helped me a lot . I just want to thank you all and god bless x
