Had dinner at your restaurant on Saturday night. The staff were so friendly. The food and wine was great. We would have loved to have stayed there all night but we had an early start on Sunday morning. We will definitely visit your restaurant again. Dolores and Mary Murray

We celebrated a surprise birthday party here last night as the place is meant to be one of the few nice restaurants that will work with party numbers larger than 8. The food was great and came very quickly, and communication with the staff in the run up to the party was excellent, but for some reason on the day several of the 'notes' that I was assured had been taken down seemed to be lost or not communicated (e.g. I had mentioned we were going to arrive later than our reservation but that the remainder of the guests would arrive on time so they could actually surprise him, we had agreed it would be nice for the host to pretend that the reservation was just for us-- but the host on the door seemed to try to give us grief for both being late and that the other guests had all already arrived. The message about our change in numbers the previous day also seemed to not be fully communicated). All in all, however, the lady taking care of our table was incredible - super kind and attentive, and the birthday boy had a fab time!

I have been going to Village East for years, and it's good. The only issues are with their sad portion sizes, compared to the prices. I ordered a cheese plate and received three slices of cheddar, some bread and three grapes. It was actually quite funny because it was so ludicrous. I think going forward Village East could create food that is representative of their costs or lower their prices. But! Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Super friendly staff and cook and nice vibes. Also good hangar steak (if not small) and all the food tasted good (if not expensive). However as my friend and I got home her stomach started hurting. I said it could be the squid but my stomach was feeling fine. An hour later my stomach feels poor too and I realize that I am positive it was the squid which gave us both food poisoning. We are both in pain and obviously distressed by this. Would be four stars, however the fact that the squid gave me and my friend food poisoning is unacceptable!

Really enjoyed my brunch again today. I don't know where else I can get consistently good quality pancakes with maple syrup and bacon around here. Great juices too and the staff serving us were all nice. It was not always like that so it is an improvement. Dog friendly too.
