Intrigued by some poor reviews, I had to go and visit! Great place with good sensibly priced selection, reduction on dearer items. Staffed by two extremely helpful ladies today, certainly didn't follow me round, but promptly and efficiently dealt with my queries and negotiated on my behalf with a dealer. What's not to like?
Visited congleton thought id pop in for a look around this antique warehouse.nWas refused entry because i was wearing a baseball cap.nThere is a sign declaring no caps or hats.nWhen questioned the lady said because thieves cannot be indentigied on the cctv if wearing headware.nThis policy should be displayed on the website as vendors could travel a fair distance to visit.nI left as i refuse to be told what i can and cannot wear.nI could have spent a substantial amount that day so sadly the business has lost funds.nVisitors beware.
Visited Sun 30/7 mid morning.nAntique centre is nice and well stocked.nnCafe experience was awful.nWe were informed no chicken for club sandwich so ordered alternative plus bowl of chips. While waiting other customers informed there was no cheese then no eggs which cut out vast part of menu. Male member of staff had a very unfortunate manner and was very sarcastic to customers and blasé that he’d ’not been shopping’.nOur sandwiches arrived. Cheese / tuna toastie was cheese on toast with tuna mayo on top and untoasted bread. Chips were black. Challenged waitress who told me they were ‘ fine just cooked in deep fat fryer’ and walked off. We eat out regularly all over the country and pay without issue but this bill was £25 which was high even if food had been good which it wasn’t.nI mentioned our experience to one of antique centre staff who basically didn’t know what to say.nCafe spoiled the whole experience at what is a good Antique Centre
I visited with my wife on our way home from a break. We'd detoured specifically to visit the store. The website states closing time as 4.00pm, we arrived at 3.30pm. Upon arrival the lady on reception immediately said we close in 20 minutes. As we looked around upstairs a second lady followed us around, making her presence felt and obviously keen to flush us out as soon as possible. My wife selected an item and went down to reception to pay. When I went downstairs at 3.45pm the second lady followed me down and before I could go into the ground floor rear room she rushed forward and locked the door. My wife had gone to the loo so I waited there for her and wrapped up the item myself with the scraps of bubble-wrap my wife was given when she'd asked if it could be wrapped. I ended up giving them a piece of my mind for their selfish behaviour regarding closing early, then the reception woman started making excuses for shutting early. What a pair of unpleasant people they were and needless to say we won't be back. I hope the owner of the business takes note and deals with them, they're certainly not doing the business any favours.
Lovely place lots of interest , however I dont like being treated like I have come down with the last shower I asked a genuine enquiry only to be told dont you know the rules and this isnt bargain hunt ... correct i wasnt wearing a blue or red tracksuit so dont treat people like it
