I visited here last week with friends. Although they all had a good meal and enjoyed, mine was very disappointing. Lasagne tasted lovely but presentation very poor, half the plate was potato salad or something like. Looked forward to my favourite dessert Eton mess and it was awful, basically a bowl of warm cream, with very little fruit or meringue. Staff not very attentive, didn't check if we were okay or if happy with food.
Busy pub. Pleasant but overcrowded - residents had to squeeze past diners in a corner. Not real chips, scallops v overcooked and garlic mushrooms were a sort of soup. Good boiled ham. Overcooked veg. Lovely staff
Brilliant Sunday lunch today. Staff and fantastic and they did a fab job catering for my sons allergies. Will be going back again. Highly recommend!
Never fails to impress. This pub-restaurant offers an extensive menu featuring in-house fayre. Staff are well-trained and attentive. The decor is fastidiously maintained. The signature dish fishermans' pancake is particularly notable. Essential to book at peak times. So refreshing to visit a welcoming hostelry which has pre-Covid atmosphere . Easy car parking.
Good choice of food on the menu, not to mention the chef's special menu. After recommendations from family, I ordered the fish pancake. It was absolutely delicious, and came with chips, broccoli and carrots. The staff are attentive and friendly.
The food was fresh and delicious. However, the portions were an absolute joke. We ordered 3 Sunday roast dinners, one of them vegan. 2 plates, had 3 of the smallest pieces of beef. All 3 plates had 2 roast potatoes and 1 boiled potato, Very small. The vegetables arrived on 1 small oval plate, and that was to be shared between the 3 of us. At this point I’d had enough. I demanded more food, and got it. A lady on the next table asked where her Yorkshire pudding was, she was told she couldn’t have it because she didn’t have the beef. Don’t go there.
Great friendly staff and fantastic food must try, homily pub made to feel welcome well definitely recommend
Lovely pub with outside seating available for patrons with dogs. Our meal was fabulous and so was our service.
Great place for Sunday lunch. Lovely food! Will be back there again.
As always a fabulous meal and service, i have moved away to Sussex five and a half years but every time i come back home to visit family and friends, the Victoria Inn is a must
