So much beauty to behold! I visited this museum twice during a short trip to London, there was little time to cover everything. I love the works of art and the details, I am surprised it isn't more popular! It was great, and the visit was for free no need to buy tickets.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
The Victoria and Albert museum is one of the most popular tourist attractions in London and I can understand why. The museum is very large with lots to explore and enjoy. There are often many exhibitions so plan ahead for buying tickets for these because they are likely to be sold out on the day we experienced this for the Naomi Campbell exhibition. I’d suggest going to the Fashion section, sculpture area, paintings, and cultures exhibitions for South Asia or other countries. It’s impossible to cover everything in a day so plan ahead or maybe ask a museum advisor to help you decide. Everyone’s tastes are different, but there’s so much to choose from that you’ll probably be able to find something that appeals to you. The museum cafe is absolutely stunning and wonderful to have tea in the afternoon. The architecture is beautiful as well, and it felt very comfortable and enjoyable to navigate through the museum. I would highly recommend visiting, but avoid peak hours on the weekends because there are likely to be long queues. We went in the morning on Saturday and were able to get in easily.
The museum is absolutely fascinating, boasting a vast collection of historical artifacts that span centuries. From intricate art pieces to stunning sculptures, the museum houses a treasure trove of human creativity and ingenuity. What's even more incredible is that entry to this cultural gem is free, making it accessible to everyone. I spent an entire day exploring the different galleries and immersing myself in the rich history and culture on display. Each artifact told a unique story, reflecting the diverse tapestry of human civilization. It was a journey through time, and I found myself marveling at the craftsmanship and artistry of each piece. I must say that the visit was worth every minute spent. The sheer depth and breadth of the collection left me in awe, and I came away with a renewed sense of appreciation for art and history. I left feeling inspired and enriched, with a newfound curiosity to learn more about the world around me. I highly recommend visiting the Victoria and Albert Museum if you ever get the chance. It offers a window into the past and a glimpse of the beauty and creativity that have shaped our world. There is so much to see, discover, and learn within its walls, and I believe it's an experience that you would thoroughly enjoy.
I'd rank V&A as one of the best attractions in London, even over its more popular peers like the National Portrait Gallery. We even gave up part of our travel plan for the day to spend more time here because we enjoyed it so much. The collections are extensive and varied, we esp love the Cast Courts and Sculptures. Entry is free except for certain special exhibitions. There are also many who visit just for its famed cafe and it's such a pity for them to pass over such a gem of a place. The shop is full of exclusive paraphernalia too.
A-MA-ZING museum! Literally one of the best! There are so many collections to see that I think even a week wouldn't be enough. The architecture inside is marvelous. Marble stairs and columns can take you back in the past when elegant ladies and gentlemen used to walk around. I definitely recommend visiting at least once!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
The Victoria and Albert Museum is an absolute treasure trove of art, design, and history. Known for its vast and diverse collections, the V&A showcases everything from fashion and textiles to sculptures, paintings, and decorative arts. Every corner of the museum offers something unique, with exhibits spanning centuries and cultures. The museum’s architecture is as impressive as the collections themselves, with beautiful galleries and intricate details throughout. Whether you're interested in classic masterpieces or modern design, the V&A has something for everyone, making it a must-visit destination for art lovers and curious minds alike!
Amazing collection in this arts and history museum - didn’t had time to cover all grounds but had a good look around as we were rushed for time. Definitely allocate more time here as compared to the more popular neighbour if you are into arts and history!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
September 2024: Enjoyed a wonderful Friday night visit at the museum. Was very lucky to see the Taylor Swift exhibit. The dresses were spaced out throughout the museum. So people were able to walk around and casually view the displays. There was also a cool interactive dress up where you can wear a corset and a Sherlock Holmes type cape. Super fun!
Fantastic museum with free entry however I do suggest making a donation in order to help fund and keep its doors open. We went during the summer school holidays in August and Taylor Swift's costumes were being displayed so it was very busy. I loved the section on clothing harry styles cardigan is on display. We went 1st thing in the morning during the week and we had no wait or que however later on that week we went past in the afternoon and there was a huge queue waiting outside the building so it might be best to book a ticket and time slot online. They have lockers for large bags Cafe and toilets all kept spotless and clean. The staff are very helpful and there is security for a bag check as you enter.
The collection of artwork at the V&A blew me away. It was cool to see some of the stuff I studied in school. Not all the pieces on display are originals, though; some are replicas. Still, it's an awesome museum with tons of art. I couldn't see them all in one day. The best part is that admission is free!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
