Had Christmas 2023 in Chesterfield. Nice town that wasn't to big. The shops were into full swing with the reindeer to close for the 2 days. Had 3 nights in Ibis and really did learn the town and it"s passage ways. As I said it was Christmas. Easy to park in car park.
Good place. The center is small but quite cozy and there are places where you can entertain yourself. There are very beautiful small streets and an equally beautiful landscape.
It was a nice place with a reasonable number of shops, cafés etc. It's a really good Costa. As visitors, we asked directions, etc, and whoever we asked was really nice and helpful. It was a miserable day, weather wise, so we probably didn't see it in its best light. Had some very good service from the Vodafone shop. Thank you, Danny, for fixing my phone.
A great place to stay in the heart of Chesterfield. There are many shops nearby, as well as cafes with incredibly delicious coffee and cocktails. In summer, it’s a great place to relax with your family, there are benches for relaxation and there is a large screen where you and your children could watch the 2024 Olympic Games Both children and adults can relax here. There are often ice cream machines or swings for children..
Good outside shopping experience. Good selection of high street cloth stores, mobile phones shops and coffee shop
Now that the Council have imposed parking fees on local residents there's no real point going to this place any more. Retail is dying and the pensioners with zero business sense the Councillors have destroyed the Town Centre. The Car Parks stand almost empty these days and shops report an up-to fifty percent drop in footfall since the parking fees were introduced. Yet still this Shopping Centre wants ridiculous rents. Oh dear.
Vicar Lane shops ok but rest of shopping area in Chesterfield is a real let down but Council don't seem bothered about bringing in new retailers. Market Plzce is a disgrace and work won't be done this century as only 2 workers on site but drinking soothing getting done.

Still seems to keep going despite the decline of high streets everywhere. Love the big screen that shows things like the Olympics, gives it a lovely community feel.
Alot better than the retail park on ravenside ,who wants to go down there and neglect their main town shops ,wish the town centre had a reasonable price structure for different independent retailers
