A great little find of an eatery with a great menu, service and food. We both had loaded fries one beef chilli and one mixed meat and they were delicious even if the chips weren't home made. There was plenty of menu choice and lots of things that took our eye. Service was prompt and welcoming.
We visited for Mother’s Day. Booked in advance and our table was ready for us when we arrived. All the food we ordered was delicious - a wide variety from sausage and mash to a Mediterranean platter. We were all super impressed. Cakes and crumble was also delicious! The staff were so friendly and attentive. They couldn’t have done more to try and accommodate everyone on a very busy day! Would absolutely recommend to anyone.
It is a very nice place to have a family get-together.. food was cooked beautifully for a special Sunday lunch day for all Mums... a little busy on the day, but that to me shows Vanilla Bean has a good reputation.. I am told the weekly menu is very nice indeed with lots of speciality dishes on offer.. very well worth a visit..Food: 5/5
A very disappointing experience at Vanilla Bean today. The 2 seater table was given to the people behind me, so I sat at the 4 seater table. I was asked to move because it was just me on my own. I said that I was actually approaching the 2 seater table before she and the 2 other customers rushed past me to take it. I was offered another table in a busy and noisy part of the restaurant which I didn’t want. I asked if I could be seated by the window instead tables were not reserved and could have been moved very slightly to accommodate. I was told that this was not possible. I ended up leaving as I felt very unwelcome particularly as a solo person. This feels particularly unfair because I actually had a table and was asked to move. Such a shame as it is a local spot for me but with such poor customer service I don’t think I will be able to return.

First visit and my choice of good, the Gammon was a good one. My colleagues had various other dishes and were likewise happy.
Brilliant cafe but you need to book, not that big and always busy. Great menu and coffee. Nuff said
We were looking a place to eat, After a walk around Colne valley on a dry and sunny day on sunday. Arrived the Vanilla Bean Cafe 1:40pm. It was almost full and needed to wait for food. after several cups of tea refilled tea pot with hot water, the meals arrived. the salmon pasta tasted delicious but lack of salmon. the chicken sandwich was good. we ordered sweet potato fries and it was plentiful and tasted good. The coffee walnut cake was ok too. the cafe also sell icecreams made from Guernsey cow's milk.
Absolutely exceptional. Went for the Sunday lunch - everything was beautiful made by the owner who is also the chef. Best quality ingredients, big portions & amazing value for money. An absolute gem of a restaurant in this beautiful village. 10/10.
