Vallebona is incredible, top quality, Italian produce in the heart of Wimbledon. You will receive the warmest welcome upon entering their shop and they have all the catering needs you could want from antipasti to charcuterie, cheeses and sweets, not forgetting a fantastic selection of wines to accompany it all. Pre-order some show stopping sharing boards too, for any home entertaining you might be doing. I cannot recommend their service enough and will most definitely be back for more!
Like Pablo below we had a disappointing experience with the owner, Stefano who took a dislike to me and my wife, because apparently we stood too close to his cheese. This is not hard to do within a cramped shop, with small descriptive labels, albeit we were hardly intimate with said cheese. Shame. Perhaps, if afforded the opportunity to take more of an interest in his produce, we might have been able to judge the quality, which I can only imagine would be very high but based on the unwelcome attitude of Stefano, it’s one star.
Quality and unique foods at competitive prices. We’ve been fans of Vallebona when they were trading solely out of Wier Road. The new shop in Wimbledon Village is a sleek addition to their locations. The prices are cheaper than competing stores on that road. I’d argue the quality we experienced also exceeds nearby stores. We bought all the ingredients needs excluding yeast to make pizza and it’s turned out amazing. The staff have great knowledge and customer service
Objectively excellent in terms of what it is and what it offers: very high quality Italian foods for discerning customers. When we went in it was packed and I imagine it will fare well in Wimbledon Village, which houses a large bank of potential customers. It has competition from other high-class Italian food shops there - Italian food and produce seems to be loved by locals - there are no Greek or Spanish stores, for example - but this one has an air of authenticity and provenance that the others lack. If they sell pasta integrale I will give them 5 stars I didn't have time to check!
Lovely new shop. They open at 10:00 but we were outside much earlier and without hesitation the lady unlocked the front door to let us in. Italian and Japanese deli. Everything looked fresh and the smells were making me hungry. We bought some pasta and sauces to give as a gift. We will go back for more and will try the tasting evenings they have.
Fantastic produce and very personal service. Drinks and antipasti in the charming backyard are a wonderful and unique experience where you are always made to feel special and welcome. Compliments to Stefano and his amazing team.
I came in yesterday to get some Christmas presents for family and was absolutely blown away by the service. As we walked in we were offered a glass of Italian red and sampled some of the cheeses. The owners talked us through all of the products we were looking at and we ended up walking away with an array of goodies. You can tell that the owners are so passionate about what they do! It was such a great retail experience and a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Following a visit to Cannazaro Park lockdown exercise I took my partner to Table @ Vallenona as we were after something better than the usual Tesco Waitrose offering. We bought just a few things as this was our first time using this shop or even this type of shop. Omg we are just blown away. Had the most beautiful bottle of red wine. Best I've tasted primitivo. Tbh I don't actually like red wine normally but this was lovely. We had two types of prosciutto and both absolutely amazing. We also bought some salsiccia sausages to be cooked. Can't comment on those yet as not cooked them but overall this shop inspired me to write my first Google review. That's how great this place is. What made it even more special was the person serving us Gianluca who could be owner but unsure never tried to force loads of things on us. Let us go at our own pace. Now I have confidence in their standard I'll be a regular. This is not a cheap shop but I don't mind paying for top quality products. I want cheap I'll go Asda. This is a shop with absolute top quality products.
The produce is always of the highest quality and I enjoy that the staff take their time with customers and make it feel like a personal service is being received. The new wine bar is a lovely new addition.
Stefano is very welcoming and knowledgeable about every single of his products. The cheeses are amazing, especially the saffron infused ones. The olive oil is excellent too.
