Nan has been here a couple months now. Lovely, caring, homely place who treat residents like their own family! Staff & management are thoughtful & on the ball. Activity co-ordinators are top notch! After a bad experience elsewhere Valley Court is a breath of fresh air! Highly recommended!
I have just been to visit my mom after 13 months apart. From booking the visit to adhering to all covid safety precautions was done very well and such a friendly welcome. My mom looked wonderful and very well cared for. I can't thank the team of carer's enough for taking such good care of her for me in these very trying times.
The premises are purpose built. Nice en suite bedrooms, and common areas. Lifts to upper floors and disabled accessible bathrooms and toilets. Families can come and go as they please. Care staff who are welcoming, and acknowledge you and who invest in those on their care. External professionals come in to lead activities and to offer services like hairdressing. But, and this is the hard thing, when things don't fit the business plan it becomes hard. Like a couple having a double bedroom; an individual needing something a particular way; a sense that keeping up with changing needs, other than the physical, is difficult to adapt to. If your loved one needs to go to hospital pressure will be put on you to accompany them irrespective of what is going on in your life. Don't get me wrong, this care home is good, very good, and your loved ones will be cared for but, it could be great.
We live opposite the care home. The new management and staff are working hard to upgrade the home to a high standard. The grounds are being improved and the inside redecorated. The work done so far is a great improvement and I cannot wait to see around the home once they have finished and Covid has ended.
My mom has been here for over 12 months now, and I can honestly say Valley Court is exceptional in all aspects. My mom has had the best care she could have and even though my mom is bed bound she is happy and content. Well done to all staff and thank you
