Welcome to Valentino's, where we've been serving the neighbourhood with classic Italian food for more than a decade.

Story

With delicious dishes and genuine friendly service, our restaurant in Lofthouse Gate on the outskirts of Wakefield, is a home from home for locals and visitors alike.

Together with the tantalising sights and sounds from our open kitchen, the laidback atmosphere, Mediterranean décor and beautiful frescoes all combine to make it feel just like you're on your holidays.

Restaurant- questionably quiet. Phoned at 6pm to make a group booking for 8pm which was a surprise they could take us. When we arrived there were 2 other tables of four in the restaurant making it a very quiet place. Staff- all young waiters which were lovely however management were not helpful at all. They just watched the young teens struggle the clear the table as there was 12 of us. Waiting times- I understand serving a group of 12 can be difficult however it taking 3 hours to just have a starter and a main was disgusting. Food- horrible. Food all came out at different times leaving large gaps between people being served. Food coming wrong and missing food which was never corrected. Charged for food we didn’t receive. Ribs were pure fat and no meat on them making impossible to eat. When telling management about the ribs he just shrugged his shoulders with no offer of a resolution. 3 people were violently Ill after the meal and others feeling unwell. Eaten here a few times now with different size groups and small family meals and never had a good experience. Many of the group left the restaurant saying they wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
Went for dinner with 2 friends the food was very nice although a little expensive. The service was good. We had a bottle of House wine an a small jug of soda water to go with the wine. We also ordered a another glass of soda as the the jug had run out. When the bill came. We were appalled having been charged £8 for what is fizzy water.
Really happy to live close to Valentino's The food here is divine and the service is fast. So friendly and relaxing. Dine in or take away, you can't go wrong! Thanks to all the staff.
If I could score higher than 5 I would, the food was superb. We started with the mini Italian bread rolls that were delicious and with 6 rolls, enough for 2 to share as a starter without filling you up. For the main i ordered the steak and this was one of, if not THE best steak I have ever eaten. It was cooked to perfection, it was so tender, so juicy and flavourful, the side veggies were perfect and all came out piping hot. The peppercorn sauce was also spot on. My wife ordered the chicken valdestano and said it was beautifully moist and really beautiful. We both cleaned our plates off of everything and shared a side of mashed potatoes which were so creamy.
Invited to a Birthday celebration, very attentive service, I had Lamb shoulder for main course, really excellent taste. To follow tiramasu, another good choice. Will be going back again soon.Food: 5/5
3rd time in a couple of months. Excellent as always. Never had a bad meal at Valentino's yet. Had the lamb tonight,the tenderest lamb I've ever had. Be back soon
Had a fantastic pizza and my wife loved her spaghetti bolognaise. The desserts were great too. Kind/friendly staff. Was our first visit having moved to area recently but will defo go again
Sat in the restaurant as i write this review. Food is lovely but restaurant is incredibly noisy! People on the next table are shouting, swearing and arguing. Shame really.
Been for a meal tonight with 5 adults and 6 kids. Had a fantastic time, the food was absolutely amazing. The adults all had the festive menu which was a really good deal. Brilliant staff, very helpful and understanding that the kids were a bit giddy and noisy. Would highly recommend this place.
