My mum was cremated here in 1966. The plots are in date sequence but the pots from 55 years ago are understandably very tired and disheveled now
Family funeral service, it was beautiful, parking for disabled people in wheelchairs easy to get in and out of the crematorium we also had a walk around the huge cemetery where there is a pathway that goes all around the garden's for it being next to a main road it is a very peaceful place perfect for quiet contemplation.
If you seek solace, peace and comfort, then come to Vale Cemetery. Aesthetically pleasing; this cemetery is maintained very well. Also in a good location; it’s spacious with plenty of parking spaces. Mother’s Day is popular and busy! People, families of all faiths, visit together to pay their respect. An absolute delight to watch. On a sunny day, sit on a bench and enjoy your lunch. Take in the cool breeze, tranquility and scenery.
The opening times need adjusting. My uncle is buried here, he was the closest thing I had to a father and being at his grave is the only source of peace I get. I finish work at 8pm every day so by the time I arrive it’s nearly 9pm. One person who works here leaves it open and another refuses to let me drive in. It’s heartbreaking when I want to see him but I can’t and the man who didn’t let me in showed no empathy. Shocking for someone who works in a cemetery
I have been visiting my younger brothers grave at Vale cemetery since 2012 , I always thought what a beautiful cemetery and peaceful place, because of COVID I hadn’t visited for a year. Sunday when I visited I was shocked the cemetery looked awful, not only were there evidence of bad flooding but it appears people are just managing their graves as they wish, a free for all, some are still with in the regimental neatness and looked lovely. However a large portion in the far corner, there was aqua-turf, decking, plastic garden chairs, peaked mounds of earth on the graves some I saw with sand. I was heart broken it looked terrible, a total mess and cluttered. Surely there must be health and safety issues with such chaos.
Well, I’ve been coming here for years, It is a nice place and the people are nice and welcoming. But, 4/5weeks ago, I went to a friends funeral there. A beautiful service I still remember today, but there was one thing just out of place that still upsets me to this day, I don’t know why but what I saw that day, after saying goodbyes and walking around the back to walk to the car, just passing the furnace area, the back gate swung open then I saw a part burnt coffin, a large bit of it. I don’t know how many saw this that day. Can you please keep that gate locked at all times please.
Every one was very kind which was good as it was my mums funeral.
Peaceful and calm environment. Gardening around the graveyard is maintained well. Easy access to grave of deceased loved ones.
Very well looked after, Quiet and spacious with water facilities for flowers
Very unkempt and scruffy What is going on...... my mum is there sept 2021so visit alot, areas with slate, stones, little fences, this is all in the new area, has it changed as i was under the impression that once the area is seeded nothing could be on the grass. Long grass growing inbetween graves looks a mess.......
