Dishonest, doublebooked ,only told my husband after waiting for half hour. Appointment was for our 2year old. Not easy to wait with a toddler. Why not tell straightway ???Shame on you !

To anyone taking the time to read this review I would like you to understand that this was not constructed in anger but rather is an honest outline of my experience with this salon. I had a blow dry at the salon by a female member of staff that was not impressive I was encouraged that they seemed creative enough to make their own hair products. The stylist recommend a wax for my hair and I purchased it. Upon using the product I noticed it had a tough texture which I hadn't experience previously with any wax product, it didn't separate on the hand and when I applied to my hair it did not blend in, it formed particles which sat on my hair and was noticeably. Within half an hour of using the product I began to feel itching and irritation. As I was abroad on holiday the week I returned to the UK I telephoned the salon and explained my experience. A female member of staff took the call, I was placed on hold and when she returned I was reassured I should return the product they would sort it out. I booked another appointment and drove half and hour to the salon. On arrival I immediately noticed a silence with the staff especially the male stylist who appears to be indifferent and unfortunately I must state unfriendly. I was booked with him and I can tell you having had blow drys from UK to USA to Oslo, I have had Japanese, Australian, black, European all different lovely hairdressers in the past, I have NEVER encountered one that made me feel so very uncomfortable. He did not engage me, and only spoke to instruct me to remove my spectacles. At one point when he was straightening my hair his hand slipped and he burnt me and quickly apologised. Following the blow dry I asked about changing the product for another wax one, the wax he used in my hair I asked to feel the texture on my fingers and this appeared more suitable for my hair type. The male stylist informed me he could only change the wax I had for the same wax. I pointed out this would be counterproductive given the reaction I had to the product, I was told this is all they could do. I requested to speak to the manager and I was told by the male stylist that they were unavailable. I requested details for head office and I was told to email. I paid and left and I made enquiries with their own salons. I spoke to a female manager who was empathetic and I explained I am disabled with learning disabilities and the thought of emailing would be challenging as I need to use certain of aided devices. She took my number and promised to get the manager from the ilford salon to call me During that conversation she revealed the male stylist I had who also told me he couldn't change the product, and who said the salon manager was unavailable is in fact the salon manager. You can imagine how disappointed and awful I must feel to find that this man had intentionally misguided me and in fact had lied. He failed to acknowledge his position and even when I highlighted the fact I had telephoned in advance and had explained the issue with the product, I was reassured they would help and sort out the problem. Nearly an hour later no call, so I telephoned back the other salon and the receptionist spoke to the female manager who said she had definitely asked him to call me. Over an hour later I received a call, I can tell you the tone and mannerism of this man is unfriendlyand lacks any warmth or understanding. He actually said yes he is the manager and that he failed to inform me of this, he claimed he spoke to head office and they said no the product cannot be changed. In conclusion we had gone from yes they would sort it out, to no they can only change it for the same product to in the end no, they would not change it at all. I have informed trading standards of my experiences and I would strongly advise anyone to please avoid this company. I have not met people before who are so unfriendly, unprofessional and in truth blatant liars. It is very concerning that this business seems to think it can operate with no support or responsibility to the wellbeing of their customers.
