I have a lot to say about this university and my experience studying here. It's almost been a year since I graduated. I am currently pursuing a masters in another city.nnThis university has honestly felt like home for me. As an international student who did her undergrad in Park Campus, I have felt that the community never ever disappointed me. I have never once struggled to make a friend. I think the uni does an incredible job at bringing people together. I would struggle to be social but I spent a good amount of time at the sanctuary and honestly every little memory made in that comforting space has always been something I look back at and genuinely miss. I would give anything to go back and do my undergrad there. The only issue that I did find is that a few times, I noticed that specific tutors would either be slightly inexperienced or just lazy so sometimes you would have to learn by yourself. However, the support system is great and they respond very well. There has never been any favouritism. Everyone has been treated with respect and you can tell that all the staff genuinely care about your well-being. As I am currently pursuing a masters at a different city, I am honestly writing this because of the differences I have faced in my current university that I never had to experience here. If you study here, especially park campus arguably the best!! make sure to make loads of memories, you will miss it:
There have been many positives with coming to University of Gloucestershire. The county is beautiful, lovely diverse campuses, wide range of clubs and societies. The university does vary largely on each department with teaching and support. I studied Graphic Design in my first year, but swapped to Illustration the next year as it suited me better. As someone who has worked in education for a while I wasn't blown away by the teaching. From a professional perspective there were a number of major improvement points which needed with my course.n1 Organisation was very hit and miss, depending on the tutor we had.n2 Teaching was good from link tutors and technicians, but the tutors there on a permanent basis the teaching was not up to standard. Just listening to a PowerPoint for three hours was not what I paid my university fees for.n3 There was a lot of competition between students and staff. Personally I felt unwelcome and in the way. There was a lot of favouritism and projects given to those who the tutors thought worthy. There was no democratic opportunities given.n4 My dissertation I largely did on my own and with limited contact with my tutor. As I felt that I could not request help, as feedback was often long-winded or woolly.n5 Marking varied from tutor to tutor. Marked up against a grid was was consistent across the whole course. But a few tutors marked on whether they liked the work or not. Professionally I think this is not acceptable.n6 The technicians were amazing and very supportive, couldn't thank them enough for assisting me with my work. Particularly with my exhibition in my final year.n7 My welfare was not a priority for the tutors.nnSo if you consider this course, make sure you consider how much support you might require. As you need to be as independent as possible, as the support is sometimes not there.

We have called them to enquire about refunds but no response and their lines are either busy or always closed. We have sent them emails no response. They need to work on their communication with students.nnTheir finance teams and refunds team needs to be more responsive and should be able to respond back to students waiting for their refunds. Very slow processing of everything and no communication. I wont recommend this university to anyone.
Their refund teams and admission team needs training on how to communicate. They don’t respond back or answer any phone calls. They don’t ever reply to student emails. They are very slow in issuing the refunds to the students whom they dont give admission.nnWould say not good for international students, high risk university.
