Mum attended day surgery department today 14/10/22 for a surgical procedure. Staff were wonderful in looking after her and keeping me informed during the day. When Mum was discharged, lovely staff member brought Mum down to where I'd parked my car to collect her. Many thanks to the staff at Day surgery unit for taking care of Mum. Very much appreciated. 5 stars.
Spent 18 hours in ambulant care yesterday having been referred by my GP for chest infection that was not clearing. Waiting room full of people with similar issues. Very short staffed and very slow to get taken through triage, x-Ray, see a DR and CT. Staff on the whole were caring and attentive although the consultant I saw initially was very stressed and didn’t appear to be on the ball… I had to get her to calm and listen to me. She was not up to date with my notes and stage of procedures. I did go through after 10 hours to ask that we in the waiting room were communicated with regarding the delays and that we had not been offered any water or refreshments. A very stuffy unventilated waiting room, no beds and no trolleys. We sat up all night. A tea trolley was brought through within 10 minutes and a nurse explained the situation and cause of delays. That lifted our spirits. The patient camaraderie was great. We all kept each other going. The staff were doing their best under difficult conditions and nobody listvygryr temper. Such a shame this is the state of our NHS A once wonderful service in a poor state indeed.
Thank you to paramedics, nursing staff and doctors of A&E. You went above and beyond the call of duty in looking after mum and also her family during a very difficult time. Thank you. You truly are all angels xx
I was admitted after having several seizures and injuring myself badly. Had to have major surgery’s, 1st the same night I was admitted & a 2nd surgery 2wks later on my ankle & leg. All the doctors & nurses couldn’t have been more caring or helpful
I have my father at Wishaw Hospital at elderly care ward due to his condition. He is happy about care, doctors and staff, food and lovely environment. I am so thankful.
Totally disgraceful how my friends mum has been treated today sent home tonight hanging off the wheelchair in agony. She had been in her bed for 7 months in agony . Now this was a lady who has worked all her life and was still working right up till she took I’ll with severe pain in her hip leg and back had had scan and x ray and still no one can tell her what is wrong . She has lost 4 and a half stone . So today she went by ambulance to wishaw general hospital at 12 pm to be told she had a urine infection . Her daughter was told to come and take her home at 8pm . Spoke to the sister in charge to be told they had done their job and had no beds for her mum . Would yous like to watch your mum in this much pain . You wouldn’t treat an animal the way yous have treated Mrs Mc Kay. So she is now home rolling about the bed in agony with her family having to watch and listen to their mum in agony and feeling the nhs have left her mum to suffer shame no yous . Someone needs to listen to this family and help them before it’s to late her mum can’t take much more of this pain . I am so angry
Maternity service. Long wait. No discussion of treatment options until treatments will be of no use or have ran out of time. Focus on getting beds back instead of patient care. Really sad to watch this happen to the NHS.
My father had a massive stroke and has spent the last 4 months laying in a bed in the stroke ward...ward 11...for the first seven weeks he had no treatment at all and was just left in the bed to waste away to almost nothing while physiotherapy claimed he was being worked with everyday even though we know he never left the bed eveytime we ask a question or ask to speak to someone senior we get lied to or told ever increasingly unbelievable excuses like it's not my ward or I only work here now and then now they plan to push him out the door to be someone else's problem without so much as a phone call to let his family know where he's going or even what time it is supposed to happen, I wish i could bring this to everyone's attention and not just whomever reads this review....if you have a relative in this hospital and esp ward 11 then question eveything...take pictures and document as much as you can...i have and my next stop is the care commission.
My wife who is still in the hospital and is Vegan gets the same lunch and dinner menu every day xcept for 2 items, it does not change 8 of the 10 items on offer have been the same since she went into the hospital, surely in this day and age they can come up with something better, i take her in a hot meal everyday that i make from scratch myself The staff are xcellent by the way, they even see whats on menu and are not impressed Complaints have got nowhere
