I stayed here for LSE Summer School. It’s one of the cheaper options though still very overpriced and is a good location for bus connections and the tube into the city. Neighbourhood is not very safe though.nnRooms are a decent size with comfortable beds. Cleaning service once a week.nnBathroom is a terrible design. Everything gets soaking wet when having a shower. Had a lot of maintenance issues while I was there such as the sink not draining properly, not being able to adjust the shower temperature and the lock on my door being faulty…nnLaundry service by Circuit Laundry is terrible and Sidney Webb needs to listen to all the complaints and cut ties with this company. Costs about 6 pounds for a wash and dry. Machines were constantly out of order. Dryers left clothes damp, even if you followed their instructions. If you have any unused credit on the account they will not refund it without charging an obscene 3 pound “admin fee”.nnDespite being advertised with shared kitchens, the reality was that they didn’t come with cookware or enough cutlery for everyone staying…. this should be provided by Sidney Webb.nnOverall, I do not recommend this accommodation for LSE students.
Laundry experience is evil. This country hates its poor more than others. To the Unite Students Rep reading this, cut your ties to the Circuit Company immediately
Horrible experience living here. The elevator was broken for at the moment 3 months, and no one made an effort to solve the issue. The washing machines and dryiers of the laundry room do not work. The alarms ring for no reason, and they are extremely loud. The doors of the rooms are very thing, and you can listen to everything that happens in the kitchen or in the corridor through them. I left for 15 days, and they changed the lock of my door without my consent and left my door open when I was not there. There have been cases of robberies done by contractors who had to fix stuff inside the rooms. The workers of the reception do not respond to the questions or claims that you do to them. I would highly recommend not coming to this residence to live your LSE experience.
Laundry rooms are terrible, machines often don’t work or steal money, people take out your stuff whenever they want. Maintenance issues aren’t being solved at all like leaking fridge or broken shower. No one really responds to emails. Cleaning services terrible just as anywhere. Plus, only one small bin in a flat with 7 people, gets full in 2h, so someone has to take out rubbish all the time. The Wi-Fi is also the slowest I ever seen in any student accommodation.
This place is horrible to live in for one reason and one reason only. The laundry rooms are HORRIBLE. The app barely works and will rob you of your money. The machines are constantly broken and never get fixed. The staff have no interest in finding a solution either. However much money you think you’ll need, you’ll definitely need more. Avoid this place at all costs.
