The living experience is so bad, the water and power cut off frequently throughout the day, at least once a week. There is always no Wi-Fi and no one comes to fix it. The whole building is vibrating because the foundation is being renovated next to it. The soundproofing is also very bad, and no one cares even if I complain, so I can't rest well here at all. Moreover, there is no laundry room in blockB, and the original way to the laundry room is closed because of the renovation, so you need to climb up to the top of the hill and then go downhill to get to the laundry room.
Noise pollution. That is my complaint.nnI am a neighbour of Rushford Court in Durham. Until today I have not had complaints with Rushford Court's impact on this residential neighbourhood. But today extremely loud rock / pop music has been BLASTING out of the new John Snow student quarters at Rushford Court since 8:30. I have spoken with a Rushford Court administrator who says the noise is likely to continue until 15:00. While she was very polite on the phone, my call has not had any effect on the level of noise coming out of the Rushford Court student quarters.nnAll of the windows in our flat are closed, but I can hear the word of every song coming out of Rushford Court. I can look out my windows and see not just Rushford Court but also the houses and flats of at least 50 other families who are surely being disturbed, too, by this noise pollution today. Some of us are people with small children. Some of us work from home.nnHaving such an invasion of noise from Rushford Court seems extremely inconsiderate of your new neighbours. This is my first impression of Rushford Court's decision to house John Snow College this year, and I have to say it is an extremely unfavorable one. This has been a quiet and peaceful street in all four years I have lived here, until today, with the arrival of John Snow College at Rushford Court.nnI live on Albert Street. The whole neighbourhood is being affected: Albert Street and Victoria Terrace and West Terrace, the streets that are just uphill from Rushford Court.
Very nice, clean and safe halls. Much nicer than John Snow halls and they are brand new and an even nicer setting. Great for town and the train station and only 5 mins from the M1 motorway so access is great.
Near the train station and hospital. Conflicting with local residents.nnAll the staff are white people, with enough East European culture, interesting manage team.nnFacilities are kind of new, although the studios building was a hospital before. Not good service.
