Underdog
"When we took over The Legal Eagle, we inherited some of the glorious features, and the building really spoke to us of old-fashioned pub-grub. The trouble is, we don't have a tradition in Ireland of real gastro pub cooking... so what to do. We looked to the old English traditions of pickled eggs and eels in the pub for the downstairs bar, but knew we should honour our own traditional lexicon of producers where possible. That style of food is very much in the 'nose-to-tail' world of dining, but the more we thought about it, the more we realised that 'nose-to-tail' use every bit and don't waste it!! sits alongside a celebration of vegetables very comfortably! Both are a celebration of produce, and we hope to use some lesser celebrated veg!"

Great range of off-piste beers in the @underdog sign change imminent : , served by competently knowledgeable and friendly staff, all in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere.
Excellent selection of Whiplash beers plus guest beers. Also wines, spirits and cocktails. Unfortunately, they're not yet doing food yet Jan '23 but hope to later in the year.
Me and my girlfriend were regular customer from this pub. Until today, when my girlfriend was denied to taste one of their beers because we had “too many samples” only two after two pints. First of all we are regular customer of craft beer pubs, such as Against the grains, Kodiak, Brewdog, Pmacs, etc and we had NEVER been denied of tastings. I can understand that there are stressful situations where giving samples could be problem. But in this occasion we were ALONE in the bar, just the two of us and the bartender. And he was rude and out of context. Never coming back again.
Over in Dublin for a long weekend and, after an online recommendation, decided to give the Legal Eagle a visit for Friday night dinner so phoned up and managed to get a last minute reservation. It did not disappoint. Staff were very friendly. Food was so good that neither of us left anything on our plates. And the price was so reasonable we actually thought it was a little too low for the quality of the food! So good we booked a table for Saturday night.
Really delicious flavours paired with traditional Irish options. Pictured here are Wicklow fried brie, pork scratches, roast beef with a side of chunky crispy chips and a treacle tart with sea salt ice cream. Weekend 2 course or 3 course options at reasonable price for such good quality food. Really friendly staff and great service!
Great place for Craft Beer. Taps rotate regularly and good selection. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable so can help with with your choice of beverage.
Great craft beer selection for Dublin. If you’re a craft beer lover, I recommend.
5 stars to one of the many pubs in Temple Bar District? Well, when you just get the feeling of coziness after entering the door, combined with both amazing craft beer, special beers from bottle and a quick and competent staff, I simply do not know, how this can be done much better. Go there, for the last beers of the evening. This is, in my opinion, what this place is for, and you won't be disappointed...
The best speciality craft beer bar in Ireland by a mile. 20 taps continuously rotated and never the same beer twice. A craft beer lovers paradise. The staff are fantastic and will give you a taster of anything you want. Super spot and friendly atmosphere
Absolutely amazing pub great craft ales, not a huge amount of room inside but well worth a visit
