Value and SelectionnOur often go to shop to get everything we need. The shop offers all kind of international food that you won't get commonly. Has good variety and is cheap unlike online markets. You will find every thing which is often resourced for asian/middle eastern occasions. Has huge variety fresh, frozen.nnStore Layout and AccessibilitynHas plenty of parking and good spacing between shelves to accommodate accessibility needs.nnProduct SourcingnIn order to assess the availability of things I often search for exotic fruits or foods which makes the impression that the organisers have gone to depth to search for products.nnItems FoundnSo far I have found Bori fresh, lotus root frozen, Jamun frozen, Sapota chikoo frozen and icecream, dried Mulberies, sugarcane, brain magaz fresh, halal duck, halal rabbit among other things.nnItems Not FoundnSo far I have not found are fresh Mulberries, falsa phalsa/indian sherbet berry, jamun java plum and Tarmaghzi date heart of palm these are very hard to resources due to short shelf lifennIf you want to have a good taste icecreams superior version of Gelato, choose premium malai kulfi icecreams tubs/lolipops or have a Gulab Jamun for sweets
I have shopped here for the last 4 months. I needed a supermarket that was closer to the community and further away from big corporations. The umrah supermarket is just what I wanted. Beautiful fresh vegetables not suffocated in plastic; fresh meat from a wide choice of mutton, beef, lamb, chicken and more and always fresh and interestingly not slaughtered too young for a quick profit. The range of food is mind boggling. Over 40 types of honey, loads of dates including proper palestinian ones, an amazing range of dairy produce including lots of tasty yoghurt and prebiotic kefirs; stop at the ice-cream section and be tempted by Persian saffron ice-cream or delicious falooda. Maybe you might like a warm snack and there is a section for that. There are nuts. Cakes. Even tableware and middle eastern perfumes. It is like going on holiday everytime you go for your weekly shop. Yes, some prices are a little high but actually I dont care so much about that because a bargain is not always good value elsewhere. Definitely my favourite supermarket yet.
Lots of selection from many countries. The cleanliness is off putting or I would have brought more. Meet counter is a real mess blood and guts everywhere but im used to sainsburys so might just be a culture shock type of thing.nFruit big selection but sadly same again it's how it looks and cleanliness.nYou can get some good bits but wish it looked a bit better.nParking can be hard at busy times.
I recently purchased some naan breads in which 2/3 of then were mouldy and inedible. The first naan bread appeared to be fine but then when i reached for another naan bread, it was extremely mouldy, This happened last night, I'll post the video below for everyone to see
I purchased a Qurbani for Eid Adha for £290 from this butcher and was very disappointed with the quality of the meat. After taking it home, I steamed a should for 3 hours and also pressure cooked another part for an hour. I found the meat to be of very poor quality and effectively inedible. Photo and videos showing the condition of the meat.nnI visited the shop to raise my concerns. The manager wasn't there, waited for 30min for him to return. When the manager return and I requested a resolution, he mentioned that there is nothing he can do and he paid the supplied. When I asked him to inspect the meat, he refused, took my phone to prevent from recording a statement and pushed me. The situation became confrontational and I felt unsafe, which led me to contact Northamptonshire Police. A police incident was recorded Incident No. 0704-29/05/2026.nnBased on my experience, I cannot recommend this business. I would advise customers to avoid it.
