Really beautiful station, sadly the roof is neglected and in need of repairs, accessibility doesn't seem great with stairs to cross to platform 2/3, requiring staff if you're a wheelchair user.nnTrains are semi regular to Barrow and Lancaster, with seating available when waiting.
This could be such a fantastic gateway to Ulverston and possibly was a few years ago but now there are tens of glass panels missing from the roof, the roof and supports are dirty and rusty, half the station buildings are boarded off and the place just looks neglected.nWhat are Northern Rail and Ulverston going to do to sort this out?nGrange and Silverdale stations are examples to follow
Great little station apart from the fact there is no wheelchair / pram access to/from the far platform.
This must once have been such a gem but is now in need of a little t.l.c. Given the wholesale destruction of the railways/stations in this area in the 1960's it is good that so much has survived - particularly the beautiful platform awnings. These have, however, been cut back and some of the glass is missing giving a slight air of dereliction. This station needs a benefactor!
