Decided to have a family day out here. Very pleasant place with friendly staff. The parking is free if you are visiting the attraction. There are toilets on site, at various locations. Food is available at the venue, or there are picnic tables at various locations. There are lots of buildings you can access and several interactive areas with staff in costumes. Please note that not all interactive activities are on all the time. We booked on line before our visit, which meant access was very quick. Good family day out.
The Ulster Folk Museum is wonderful, it features many old buildings, some of which are replicas and some of which have been moved from other areas. A great place, with excellent staff. Lovely for a quiet day out. The tea rooms are brilliant as well.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
What a fantastic place! We recieved a warm greeting from the get-go, and all the staff were very friendly and informative especially the lovely gentleman in the photograph shop. It was a great insight into history and rural life, and we would totally visit again! There are facilities available throughout, and it was easily accessible via taxi or bus - its a steep treck up to the entrance though, so it's good to be aware of this.
Ulster Folk Museum is a brilliant collection of a walk through time in history of the way things were. Fantastic display of farm houses, businesses, live interaction, and outdoor adventure learning for the family. I highly recommend seeing this museum if in the area.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait

A great family day out! You wouldn’t think you were anywhere near NI’s capital, Belfast. Quiet rural walks within short driving distance of Belfast. Living history characters walking around brings visit to life. Kids loved this. Really helps you better understand and appreciate the lives our grandparents lived. Nostalgic for those of us in our late 30’s early 40’s as we can remember our grandparents stories from their own lives as kids. Oh, and the smells!!! Brought back wonderful memories. Great hands-on experience with the added treat of an authentic old sweet shop to keep the kids engaged until the end of the day out. Good gift shop, even if it is a little overpriced and a very good cafe. We would definitely visit again. Good free parking.
Loved this place as a child and now as an adult bringing my own children. Amazing place super friendly staff and so much more has been added over the years. Wonderful day out and an ideal spot to go to on a Summers day
What a lovely place to spend the day! Filled with so much history and plenty of seating areas all around the site. Bring the family and a picnic.
Was visiting to attend a great workshop on the Irish Peach with access to the museum included. A stunning setting of mainly original buildings holding and telling incredible stories and occupied by some outstanding artisans.
Nice day out , walking shoes or trainers as its a fair old stroll around . See how people lived a 100+ years ago, lots of houses & churches, a smattering of shops, court house, printshop, basket weaver, police station, pub, spademill and forge there's gonna be more I've forgotten ... all in a rural village setting with lanes surrounded by small fields, orchards , hedges and trees.
