First time visiting here today despite being relatively local Plymouth. Absolutely loved it! Wonderful place! Great shop, delicious food, beautiful walk and even some goats to feed. Best of all the service was superb. Mistakes happen yet we always judge a place on how they manage it. When we had a slight issue with some of our food it was dealt with quickly and with our experience at the heart. We will definitely be back and will be recommending this place far and wide.
We had that Sunday afternoon urge for a cream tea on a summer's day. Thankfully, Ullacombe Farm Café hit the spot perfectly! I recommend booking in advance if your heart is intent on enjoying the Sunday roast which looked delicious, I have to say, as all tables inside were reserved. This didn't matter, as there was ample seating outside in the sunshine. The menu offers an impressive selection of snacks, main meals, and beverages. The cocktail list was intriguing. We opted for the cream tea with mixed scones one plain, one with fruit and the bacon, brie and chutney sandwich with an extra pot of Earl Grey. Both were excellent with the scones served with a good amount of jam and cream and a generous side salad with crisps to accompany the sandwich. I must say the customer service was excellent. Our order was misunderstood, which was completely my fault. The error was corrected quickly and without question, despite the error being totally mine. I was grateful and impressed by the professionalism shown by the staff The llamas and goats are the true stars with the huge black pigs being a close second. Great food and excellent service in a lovely location. Thank you.
This is a lovely spot on the edge of the Moors, set in a small farm on the approach to Hay Tor from Bovey Tracey. Firstly, book online weeks before you want to go, it's pretty much essential. Although we're local, this was the first time we've eaten here; there were never free tables on previous visits so we made the effort and booked a week in advance, luckily finding the one free table remaining. I must be honest and say it was noisy, reminiscent of a primary school class room during a wet lunchtime. However, we soon adapted and, with a couple of tables leaving, volumes lowered. On to the food. This was good quality and value for money. Portion sizes were spot on for the price and the flavours we're nice. The menu itself has a range of options from main courses to high tea; it was quite impressive. From what we saw on other tables, the quality, portion size and value was consistent and the mood across the cafe/restaurant was very cheerful creating a pleasant atmosphere. We will visit again, probably slightly later so it's a little quieter. We're very keen to sample the afternoon tea with scones and sandwiches. This is a lovely venue, great for families. There's a farm shop and activities too. Highly recommend a visit, even if it's just to have a look around.
Popular place not too far from Bovey Tracey. Cafe can cater for quite a large number of people and plenty of opportunity for those who want tables for bigger numbers. Food well priced and of a very good standard. Plenty of staff who were polite and friendly.
I Cant Believe I'd Never Been out was Amazing Lovely setting Fabulous Service and Amazing Food at Reasonable Prices. The Menue had a Great Variety of Choices , The Atmosphere was Relaxed and Comfortable, Happy People all Enjoying their selves. Having an Array of Gifts and foods for sale was Brilliant Thankyou Ullacombe For such an AMAZING Experience I will be Back
We used the newly refurbished barn for a wake. It's a lovely space, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was good although far too many scones!. Overall, excellent place.
Went here for the first time on my birthday, with my id my breakfast was free. I had the pancakes and crispy bacon and it was brought out to me with a lit birthday candle! My food was delicious, as was my husband and daughters. My husband had the ‘little barn breakfast’ and my daughter chose the ‘smoked salmon and scrambled eggs’. The staff were absolutely lovely and the bunting and fairy lights provided such a beautiful ambiance. We were all impressed and will definitely return.
First time visiting the shop and cafe and we will definitely be back. Warm and welcoming staff who took the time to chat despite being really busy. We had an afternoon tea which was great value with the option to choose the cake and sandwich you wanted. The Turkey roast was also a winner with our group. Great selection on the main menu as well as a specials board. We also bought some scotch eggs to take home which were delicious. Highly recommend.
Second time here, thought we would try the breakfast, after having a superb Sunday roast a couple of months ago. My goodness being a vegetarian it's so hard to find and a place that does a good breakfast. They have three different sizes that suit every pocket and appetite. They have a large, a little ,and a Mini. We had the little and as you can see the portions were very generous. At £7.99 which included tea and toast, the value for money was exceptional. Rachel and the rest of the staff were so friendly and accommodating. It was also nice to be able to take our dog in and had a few leftovers. The only reason I am giving you a four star is because my egg was hard and not soft. We will definitely be returning.
Delicious breakfast and dog friendly. We even ended up taking home some local flavoured milk
