Bought some large oak beams and posts for a recent out-building project. Very pleased with the quality and service from Polly and Tom. Order was cut to my specifications. Nice to support a local, family run and sustainable business.
Bought some 4meter lengths of 1.5inch oak to make a table, Tom was so helpful in selecting the best possible matching boards for me and their team were great at helping me load it into my small van. It was really great to see lots of women working around the yard, and to notice the solar panels, electric forklifts and hearing about the sheep wool insulation for the barns. A good sustainable business keep it up!
I have been buying my materials from Uk Hardwoods for a year now. Both Polly and Tom are easy to work with, very friendly and knowledgeable . They have a great selection of hardwoods and are always happy for me to select what I need. The quality of their wood is excellent, I like knowing that it is all locally sourced and sustainable, which helps me explain the provenance in my own work.
It’s been a such a pleasure dealing with UK Hardwoods - from first enquiry, time showing me around the mill and their time, support and patience dealing with our queries related to installation above underfloor heating. The floor looks and feels amazing underfoot - cannot recommend highly enough! :
What a fabulous company and product. From start to finish Polly was great with samples, in depth advice on laying and very flexible to my changes in timing. The wood, character oak, is outstanding its beautiful but also i was really impressed with how true it was in the various widths with no bowing or warping which made it a joy to lay. Seriously it was like laying engineered flooring so brilliant. Thanks again i will be back for our extension project!

I have worked with UK Hardwoods for a couple of years now, photographing properties that have used their wood. What always amazes me, is just how different and unique each home looks and feels. Their wood allows so much creativity, and doesn’t need to just stop at flooring. Walls, ceilings, stairs, outdoor rooms, in the garden. If you need wood, definitely talk to Polly and Tom!! My life goal is now to build my own home and have it fully decked out with UK Hardwood wood!
Tom and Polly have such a strong ethos around provenance and quality that it removes a lot of the stress from us. We have received amazing service and wonderful wood all from the UK, sustainably milled, and will continue to use UK Hardwoods in work moving forwards.
