The Heritage tour was very informative, and it was great to learn about the history of the cinema from our Heritage Guide. The newsreel shown was from well before my time, and provided an excellent insight into past events and how they were reported. The Tyneside Cinema is well worth a visit
It's a great venue for cinema. The building inside is impressive. This independent cinema is reliable to find films which cannot be found elsewhere. The seats are comfortable. Also, the cinema has its own bar, so if you arrive early or have extra time after the film, a drink or two is delightful The cinema entrance is not that easy to find. The door is on the side of the building and not where you might expect to find it.
Went for their annual Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Marathon. Was an amazing experience, the cinema staff were friendly, the seats were super comfortable and it was a fantastic experience. We're ready and waiting for next year
Love this independent cinema. Varied selection of interesting films always screening. Helpful friendly staff. Lovely food and wine in the cafe bar, plus a really nice private party space. What more could you want!
What a great venue for seeing a range of films, many of which would not be shown at the large chain cinemas. Friendly atmosphere, food and drink options. Please keep supporting it so we don't lose this wonderful place.
One of the best independent cinemas going at the moment. Some of the best showings for the big upcoming new films with early releases. Comfortable seating, lovely cafe, cool overnight fun screenings and genuine staff, who’ve never been a problem but have always made the experience great! P.S - make more shirts with the over night showings I will buy them
Absolutely brilliant venue and so easy to get to in Newcastle, it's literally 5 minutes from the metro station. There is a good bus service and places to park but you will have to walk a bit . It's lovely and clean, has a fantastic mix of attractions and is very reasonably priced.
Tough days I know for the Tyneside cinema. But this constant raising prices....it's now 5 quid for soup of the day. That's the cheapest lunch on offer here now. 14 quid for a vegan burger! Providing a good value lunch will bring punters in, not fleecing the folk that still continue to come here. At some point even we will call it a day. The staff continue to smile and do their best. X
My 3rd time back here when visiting Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. I love the atmosphere and friendly staff as well as selection of food and drink. Also love the range of films that are put on! Will be back again when in town.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching One Life in the small cinema at the top of this historical building. From buying tickets, enjoying a coffee in the coffee shop while waiting then climbing the stairs to the showing... The staff were friendly and helpful. Really hope that this place can stay doing good business for many years to come!
